The good news is, if you go with GenNOW, you won't have to talk to half of your wedding guests because they will be on the dance floor the whole time. Deciding to go with these guys will depend on the type of wedding that you want to have beca...use these guys will bring the party! I can only think of one other wedding that I have been to where the dance floor was this rocking (maybe we just go to lame weddings or maybe our families are just that awesome, or both?). My only suggestion for them in hindsight would be to play a few more typical slow songs for some of the aunts and uncles and our parents friends. Oh well, most of our guests didn't seem to care (nor did we) because we never saw the dance floor empty. This could easily be worked out with your DJ in advance because we met for dinner prior to the wedding and he gave us all the time that we needed to plan our reception timeline out with him.
I lost count of the number of times our friends and family members told us after the wedding how awesome everything was, and they never left out how great the DJ and music were. (Side note: My uncle does some wedding deejaying on the side and he now has a man-crush on DJ Matty Matt).
Their timely responses to all of our inquiries were impressively quick and professional. We never had to wait more than an hour or two (and generally much sooner) to hear back from Tim or DJ Matt when we had questions for them. It's pretty unbelievable how accessible these guys are, especially considering how busy they are (we even unexpectedly saw them at the Gopher basketball game last night, too!) Working with Tim will definitely remove any doubts you may have that the music is going to be handled appropriately and with confidence. Both Tim and DJ Matt were very prompt and we never felt like they were trying to rush off to somewhere else. We always felt like we had their dedicated time and attention when we met with them which was very reassuring.
Pros: loud, fun, high energy, deep jams, professional, responsive, reliable, MEMORABLE
Cons: loud (lost voices!), batteries on wireless mic were cutting out during toasts, would have preferred a few more slow songs in hindsight
Bottom line: Probably a little more expensive than some other options but the service and unique energy are definitely worth it! What else are you going to do, place your favorite 90s and 2000s jams on an iPod and put it on random? Come on, it's your wedding for goodness sake...
