Gloria was so easy to work with and executed our vision perfectly, not to mention it was absolutely delicious! We needed a cake last minute as our original bakery was not reliable, and Gloria stepped in seamlessly and eased our concerns right away! All of our guests enjoyed the cake and we can't wait to order more cakes from her for future events!

We knew the 3 tiered wedding cake would taste awesome & be beautiful with the fresh flowers on it! And it was! Gloria never disappoints. The 8 sheet cakes were scrumptious ! Some of our guests were going back for 3 or 4 pieces! Thanks again. I can't wait for the next celebration so we can have Gloria's cake!

Oh my goodness, Gloria's cakes. Absolutely fantastic AND GORGEOUS. She made my dream cake and it was absolutely perfect. My husband and I spent the next several days after our wedding just eating cake; I just couldn't stop. SO many people at my reception were raving about the cakes and how amazing all three were (we had almond, chocolate, and lemon). So delicious. Thanks, Gloria!

Tasted Glorious Desserts at a bridal show and then also tasted a couple other bakeries around. They didn’t compare to the flavor and moisture of Glorious Desserts. A little pricy- but comparable to other bakeries around and I also wanted really good cake at the wedding, so it was something I prioritized I would “splurge” on in my wedding budget. We had a two tiered almond cake and white and chocolate sheet cakes for our wedding. They were great! And Gloria actually connected us with our florist, who was amazing. We had lots of comments about how delicious the chocolate cake was! We may order from her again in the future for an anniversary cake or something-because all the chocolate cake at our wedding was gone!

Before I even got engaged I knew I wanted to use Glorious Desserts for my wedding cake after having tasted Gloria's cakes at weddings I'd been to here in Des Moines. We ordered a three-tiered almond wedding cake, plus three different flavored sheet cakes (our guest count was 160) and almost ALL of it was gone! Needless to say, Gloria's cake was a major hit at our wedding. My only complaint is I wish our guests saved some for us! ;) Guess we'll just have to order more for our anniversary. Thanks Gloria for making our day extra sweet!

Our wedding was last weekend, 06/09/2018 and we chose to go with Gloria for our cake, she took our ideas of what we wanted and made them come alive, we had so many compliments on our cake on how great it tasted the flavors we choose were vanilla, marble, and apple. Everyone was in love with the apple cake, we never even taste tested the apple but becuz all the other ones were so good I figured it would turn out good. But it turned out better then I could have imagined!! You won’t go wrong with choosing her for your cake!

When hiring Gloria she is truly an expert and I strongly advise listening to her expertise! She is knowledgeable and professional! If you want someone pandering to you DO NOT HIRE GLORIA! She doesn’t deal with snowflakes very well! As no professional should! BUT IF WANT A SUCCESSFUL WEDDING HIRE GLORIOUS DESERTS!

I tried to ignore the personality and go through her as a I have heard her cakes are very good, unfortunately that did not workout for us. Thankfully though I found another bakery who was extremely helpful, friendly, and willing to work with us throughout the process. I’d consider looking elsewhere as I’m now much happier having someone I know I can trust for my special day and not have to worry about anything.

Gloria was able to bring our cake picture to life! Her prices are very comparable to other bakers in town. We chose 3 flavors and all of them were delicious. She is a busy gal and after tasting her cakes, you understand why! She does a fantastic job and would hire her again!

Gloria is very professional, easy to schedule a meeting with, and makes delicious cake. The wedding cake she made for us was so beautiful, exactly what I had wanted, and absolutely delicious. We had other sheet cakes for the guests at the wedding as well, which were fantastic. I would highly recommend Glorious Desserts for any cake needs!

The cake is very good and would give 5 stars if based on that alone, however was unpleasant to work with and cake came lopsided. She did come to fix this after we asked, however we still weren't pleased with the final result.

Refuses to even meet with brides or set up tastings for smaller cakes. Very rude! Taking my business elsewhere

We had the most beautiful cake for our wedding. The most important thing to me is that it was delicious...and it was so delicious! One of the nicest thing about our cake was that we told her what we wanted, she made it, delivered it, it was perfect....no stress. I really appreciated that.

My mother (the wedding planner) found Glorious Desserts at a bridal show and announced to me that she would simply not permit me to have cake from anyone else -- that's how delicious the cake is! When we went to Gloria's house to taste, I was an instant believer. All of her flavors are fabulous, but you will never taste a better almond wedding cake. Melts in your mouth, it is so moist and rich and light and just plain wonderful. Gloria has a really impressive body of work -- she is a consummate professional and is immensely talented. If you can dream it, she can make into a cake, but she will never promise the impossible -- she is of the highest integrity. She has done a ton of weddings and offered us helpful suggestions about which flavors complement which, etc. We ended up having a three-tier cake and chose almond, lemon, and marble as our flavors. All three were a hit and the cake itself was truly stunning -- more beautiful than you could ever imagine. People oohed and aahed about how great it looked -- and it tasted even better! Thanks again, Gloria, for making our big day extra-sweet! Brides, book Gloria and rest easy knowing that a) you will have a cake b) it will be delicious and c) it will look amazing!

Glorious desserts makes the best tasting wedding cake I've ever had. They have several flavors to choose from and the designs are beautiful. They offer great service and work with several different vendors. You can do a cake tasting with them to make sure you pick the best flavors. They are located in convenient West Des Moines.

Her cake is AMAZING! We got so many compliments on how great it was. She is an interesting character, pretty dry and comes off harsh. But I wouldn’t go with anyone else in the Des Moines area.

Gloria did my cakes for my wedding and my bachelorette party and they all tasted fabulous! I sent her a picture of what I wanted and she made it happen! She is easy to work with and very detailed with her cake designs. The only thing I wished she would have done different is to tell us what exactly had to be returned to her the next week. There was some confusion on a piece in the middle of the cake that accidently got thrown away- very costly mistake. That being said I would definately come back to her and recommend her to other brides! Thanks Gloria!

This was the only cake I tasted at two different bridal shows in Des Moines (they are held on the same day) where the cake was just moist enough and had an amazing taste where it honestly didn't need the icing and that's rare. The icing was delicious too though :) We had strawberry, marble, and almond flavors and they were all incredible in their own right. Gloria was great to work with and even let me have tiny samples one time before the wedding when my mom was visiting me in Iowa and wanted a taste. Amazing cake for a great price!!

My wedding cake not only looked exactly as I wished, the cake tasted AMAZING! I have never tasted such a good cake! Guests were commenting about it throughout the evening! I cannot wait till our anniversary to eat it again! We may have to start ordering birthday cakes for Gloria because we can't wait that long before eating it again!

First off I was referred to Gloria from a friend of mine who had her cake at a shower. My friend said it was the best cake she had ever had. I decided I would try her out and go to a tasting. The cake was AMAZING. However, my problem lies with how her customer service was. She wasn't the most friendly and was kind of rude. I just figured I caught her on a bad day. I decided to go with her bc her cake was delicious and a fair price. Throughout the process of getting everything done I had also worked with an assistant of hers. Definitely not friendly either. She was very rude and at one point asked me if I understood her bc I looked like I was confused. I was not confused, just dumbfounded at how rude she was to me while I was meeting with her. On top of that, she had lied to me during the meeting and I told her I knew she did. After that, she wanted to be a little more nice. Fast forward a few months to the wedding...I had ordered a tiered cake and two sheet cakes, one being strawberry. I was told that it was going to have a slice of a strawberry on each piece. Guess what was missing? The strawberries. Being that it was my wedding day and didn't want to be a bridezilla I didn't call and just thought accidents happen. After the wedding and thinking about everything that had happened I am not pleased at all. I was never even told thank you from her. Not the best experience. If her attitude, customer service, and business skills were half as good as her cake I'd recommend her and would be happy to go through her again. However, none of them are.

Gloria was professional and amazing! The cake looked and tasted amazing!

the cake was good, however a bit crumbly. she is a bit of pill to work with, and when we had an issue that day, she was not pleasent to help us solve it - even though her staff caused it! her assistant is so much more personable. only use her if you are very patient!

Gloria made our wedding cake for us this past June! We enjoyed the tasting (best cake we'd ever tasted) so it was tough to choose and when we described what we wanted on our cake, she designed it to a T! The cake was absolutely beautiful and was just as delicious as we'd remembered! We were so pleased with the service and honored to have that cake in the middle of the ballroom for all to see! Although it was a little pricey (to me), it was definitely work the extra $$. Great end result!!

My caterer, Christiani's in DSM, said she was the best...and I believe him! She says she likes her cake like she is...STRONG! This is very true...she doesn't skimp on the flavor or her attention to detail. We had a marble cake with a strawberry sheet cake and got RAVE reviews. in fact, I'm craving some right now....

I have never had such amazing cake as Gloria's! My husband still raves - I think I will need to order another cake for our anniversary.

Our wedding cake was beautiful. We only ended up using Glorious Desserts for our "look pretty cake" and made sheet cakes ourselves, but the cake they created was simply lovely!

My fiance and I will be using Glorious Desserts to make our grooms cake as well as the wedding cake for our wedding next year. We went to a wedding for a friend and they had Glorious Desserts make their cake. My fiance ate 3 pieces of cake! Then he demanded that we MUST get Glorious Desserts to make our cake because "it's SOOO GOOD!!"
