Her photos are timeless, and her perfect use of color and light make your wedding photos look like they belong in a magazine. She captures both the photos that you expect, as well as moments that you didn't even know happened. She is more than a photographer - she's a boutonniere pinner, a wedding dress zipper-upper, a bouquet holder and a breath work coach. She's a true professional and you are lucky if she's available to capture your special day.

Katie was an absolute dream to work with from start to finish! As soon as my husband and I had our first call with Katie, we knew she would be the perfect photographer to capture our wedding day. She was incredibly kind, warm, and professional from the start, making the whole process a dream. Katie was organized and helpful with the prep work (ex. questionnaires to make sure we didn't miss any requested shots, customized timeline) so we were able to go into our wedding day without any worries. On the day of our wedding, Katie was the perfect calming presence and made us feel so comfortable. The timeline she created was spot on (even when we were running a little behind to start!) and our first look, portraits, and family & wedding photos were super efficient. Katie captured all moments of our day and night and had a fast turnaround for a preview and then the full photo collection. We are thrilled with the quality of her work - what you see on her website and social media is what you'll get! Can't recommend Katie enough!

Let me start out by saying, I picked my venue because it was one of the three dates that worked with Katie’s schedule. She’s that good! About 5 years ago, Katie photographed my sister’s wedding. My younger brother followed suit and hired Katie to take his wedding photos last year. I knew when I got engaged, that I had to have her and I was lucky enough to snag a date. Making me the last kid in our family (3 out of 3) that had the privilege of having Katie as our photographer for our weddings. Throughout the planning process, Katie was seamless with her communication and thoughtfulness. Then the day before the big day arrived and I was a anxious about the weather. Katie called me and we spoke about back up plans and she was willing to change things up if needed. The day of the wedding she was an amazing source of calm during the hustle and bustle. Those brides who have been in wedding parties before understand it best- your are with your photographer for a good part of the day. Katie was such an amazing person to be around all day. She directs you and checks in with you. Then during the reception lets you just be present in the moment all the while capturing each part. Now as for the outcome, the photos speak for themselves. It was 90 degrees out and half my bridal party was sweating but in every picture, they all look flawless! I literally cried (happy tears) when I got back my photos. The posed ones are beautiful, but the moments that Katie captured that were authentic- smiles, tears, laughs, excitement- that’s where you can really see why her work is so valued and why she’s such a coveted wedding photographer. So, yes, if you get lucky enough to have Katie’s schedule line up with yours, you should book her as your wedding photographer. She. Is. Incredible.🤍

There aren’t enough words to describe how amazing Katie is. My photos will be cherished through a lifetime. She has such an artistic eye and there are so many special “non posed” moments that she captured throughout the day. Not your average wedding photographer! Katie’s demeanor kept me calm throughout the entire day as well. She helped me cut the hanger ties off my dress, gave me a Bobby pin when I needed one, ran to get me water before I walked down the aisle. Wow. Just wow! I don’t know what we would have done without her!

I am so incredibly happy that we chose Katie to be the photographer for our wedding!! Out of all of the photographers that I spoke with, Katie was the only one who fully understood my vision and didn't try to talk me out of it. I wanted a mix of different types of photos (flash photography, candid photos, classic/romantic, etc.) and Katie gave us exactly that! Katie is nothing short of amazing! Before even selecting Katie as our wedding photographer, I loved how natural and effortless all of her photos felt. After speaking with Katie, her kindness and easy going personality assured me she was the person for the job. While we had high expectations, on our wedding day Katie blew them out of the water. Picking Katie and her team for my wedding made all the difference!!! I had a vision for some of my photos and wanted to have a little fun, try some accessories, etc. and she was here for it, guiding me through what she'd recommend and perfectly capturing the old Hollywood glam vibes I wanted with our photos. Katie is incredibly responsive and flexible and is there if you need any advice while you're planning not only the photographs but other important aspects of the wedding. She also has an incredibly calming presence on the day of, which is always much needed when the nerves and stress are kicking in. Hiring Katie was a no-brainer for my husband and I, as we were lucky to see her fabulous work firsthand when she shot my sister's wedding in 2019. She was the first vendor we hired (and we ended up picking our wedding date in part based on her availability)! It was the best decision we made in the planning process. She brought profound warmth and professionalism as she flawlessly shot our intimate September wedding in NYC. She was also incredibly attentive — which was invaluable as we opted not to have a wedding planner or day-of coordinator. With Katie on hand, we didn't need one! We hired Katie as our photographer for both our engagement shoot and our wedding after we saw how beautifully she captured photos of a friends wedding. This was by far one of the best decisions we made for our wedding and we knew that right away when we met her for our engagement shoot. My husband and I both don't love being the center of attention and can be a little awkward in pictures, but she ensured we were so comfortable and laughing together throughout the whole shoot so that we could feel natural in photos. Knowing we loved our engagement shoot and felt comfortable with Katie made us feel so relaxed the day of our wedding. We had the absolute best day. Katie and her second shooter Meg did such a wonderful job at capturing every small and big detail. Can't recommend them enough!!

Finding the right wedding photographer was something that I took my time and tried to research to the best of my abilities because I wanted to love my photos. So much about planning a wedding is about the guest experience, family preferences, or budget constraints. Finding the right photographer on the other hand was something I wanted to do for my husband and me so we would have beautiful photos to look back on. Katie, came highly recommended to me by a friend and I now see why. We were able to do our engagement shoot with Katie which allowed us to get to know each other. I felt so comfortable going into the wedding day. Katie was well organized and planned leading up to the wedding and more or less told me what needed to get done. On the day, both Katie and her second photographer Athena were keeping a close eye on my emotions and helping me to feel all of the feels but to not get stuck in one place. They were also quick to sense when I was over something and again we moved on. Given that they didn't know us that well at all I was so impressed by their ability to read our body language and take photos that looked and felt like us as a couple. Katie delivered over 2k photos all of which were beautiful and perfectly captured our day. If you're on the fence, don't be!

All I can say is WOW. We are truly blown away with every part of working with Katie & Meg for our wedding last month. From the extremely thoughtful questionnaire before our wedding, to the down-to-earth loveliness of both of them upon our first meeting (I was 30 min late and they were so gracious about it!), to the full gallery of photos afterward - they nailed everything!! Our family and friends still cannot stop talking about how wonderful they were the whole day. They were so kind to everyone, got every shot we wanted, and overall just a great asset to our day. We were a little worried about not being able to meet Katie and Meg before the big day, but it really felt like they were old friends just there to capture our special moments. They brought such a calming presence to a potentially very stressful day. The photo gallery we were given after is categorized and edited beautifully, with thousands of amazing photos! We are really stunned by their talent and ease. The light! The details! They are spectacular photographers and humans. Our only regret is not booking them for more time! We'll have these photos forever, and I cannot wait to look back on them in 50 years and think what a perfect day, with the perfect duo to capture it all. Katie was the perfect photographer for our wedding and even before that! I found her through our venue and she was the one and only photographer we met with before booking her. She is incredibly knowledgeable, calm, friendly and the perfect presence you want on your wedding day. The photos from our wedding day are beyond our expectations. We knew they would be beautiful after having an engagement shoot with her over a year before our wedding day, but the wedding day pictures were even more incredible. Katie and Meg captured big moments, small moments and everything in between. They are beautifully done to embody the romantic and classic feel we wanted for our day. I quite literally could not recommend Katie and her team enough. If you are in the CT area and she has availability, JUMP ON IT. From the very first consultation, Katie was incredible. First off - she is an INSANELY talented photographer. Her photos will look absolutely gorgeous, and even if you are awkward with photos/not used to getting your picture taken, she will somehow still take the most stunning shots! Everyone who we've shown photos to has been blown away by just how perfect they are. She is able to capture all the special little moments in such a beautiful, natural way. But beyond her obvious talent, what really makes Katie stand apart is her kind, compassionate, and calming presence throughout the process. Katie was recommended to us by the New Haven Lawn Club in early 2021. After our first call, we knew we wanted her to photograph our June 2022 wedding. In the month leading up to our wedding, Katie helped us come up with a plan for the pre-ceremony photos, and I think our wedding party and family photos went smoothly because of that plan. On the day of the wedding, Katie and her second shooter arrived early and jumped right in. I couldn't have asked for a better photographer. It was a pleasure to have Katie with us for 7 hours of our wedding day. Katie is kind, friendly, and a great communicator. It's only been 1 week since our wedding, and we already have 50 preview photos that we're so happy with.

Katie did our May 1st wedding and we already have ALL of the photos back (just 4 weeks since the wedding)! We are insanely happy with how the photos turned out and absolutely loved working with Katie on the day of the wedding. She was super professional but also just fun and had us laughing throughout the day. She even drove us to an off site location to snap some pictures. She was so attentive to the details including making sure my dress looked perfect in every picture. When my bridesmaids couldn't be found quickly, she even helped to bustle my dress to make sure I could get back out there and enjoy the festivities. Katie and her sister Meg, were amazing!! My husband and I had to postpone our wedding due to COVID, but Katie made it easy because she was extremely patient and flexible when it came to rescheduling. Katie and her sister Meg were the true rock stars on our wedding day. Katie made everything SO seamless on a day of craziness! She was so helpful, accommodating and never in the way. I did an engagement session and my wedding with Katie. All I can see if how zenful and calm she is, which is the perfect dose of what you need as Bride. My fiance and I hired Katie last year to do our wedding this August, as well as our engagement photos last November. Covid caused us to postpone our big wedding until next July. In the meantime we had a small 15-person wedding in my parents backyard on our original date of August 1st. Katie made the postponement process a breeze, and we also had her shoot our backyard wedding for a few hours. The photos were gorgeous, and my husband and I felt so relaxed and comfortable taking pictures with her. We are SO excited to have her shoot our big wedding next July.

5 Stars are not enough!! I fell in love with Katie Slater Photography when I saw my friend’s engagement photos. The depth to the photos were like nothing I had seen before. They weren’t just photos, they were artwork. I knew before I was even engaged that I had to have Katie as my wedding photographer. I’m an indecisive person, but that was one thing I was 100% sure about! Katie exceeded my already very high expectations. Her work speaks for itself. We were struggling to find a photographer we loved until we met Meg, she was recommended to us by a friend of a friend who had STUNNING wedding photos. As soon as we chatted with Meg we knew we wanted to work with her! We were nervous for our engagement shoot but she made the day so much fun and the photos were INCREDIBLE! We had Meg shoot our wedding and she was amazing. Her photos came out beautiful and we had a blast with her all day. She made our memories come true!!

Katie and her team were what made our wedding day so magical. Their top notch professionalism, flexibility and attention-to-detail were incredible. Katie was such a calming presence. On top of all this, our wedding also took place during quite the snow storm and her team didn't miss a beat. We made specific requests to keep the photos very classic and Katie beyond stuck with that found more beauty in these classic angles. Overall, we cannot recommend Katie enough! The biggest challenge will truly be in determining what photos to select for our photo book because we are in love with each and every single one.

I don't even know where to start with praising Katie and Meg. I knew from the moment I spoke to Katie that she was one of the people I wanted on my team for our wedding day. She was such a calming energy to have around on what can be a very stressful (but exciting day). After I put my dress on that morning, we noticed that one of the buttons for my bustle was missing. But not to worry, Katie had a thread and needle. Yes, my photographer sewed my bustle button back on my dress for me. That was definitely not in our contract. Her photos are absolutely stunning. They are natural and capture every emotion. Speaking of emotion, before the ceremony, any time that Katie could sense that my nerves were getting the best of me. She would say "hey, look at me and breathe" in the most genuine way that you are automatically put at ease. Her and her sister, Meg, are the most incredible team. Our guests noted that you never even knew they were there, yet when we got our photos back, you could tell that they really were EVERYWHERE. Picking a photographer can be a difficult decision in this process, but trust me when I say you WILL NOT regret this decision at any moment. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Katie and Meg.

I would highly recommend Katie Slater Photography for your wedding day! In addition to her amazing photos she is awesome to work with! She is kind , funny, unobtrusive, understanding about family dynamics, and a source of calmness! We chose to do a "first look" which I would highly recommend. I wasn't a huge fan of the idea at first however in retrospect I am very happy that I went with this choice. It allowed for more time for photos with your (soon to be) husband as well as family and wedding party. It also made the walk down the isle so much more relaxed and stress free! (and I didn't end up with the nervous scared looking photos - haha) After the wedding day you are left with the marriage, memories and PICTURES! I was so happy that I devoted the extra time to taking pictures beforehand because now I have some truly awesome photos with my husband, friends and family! Another awesome thing about Katie is that she is like a disappearing photo taking ninja! While I spent a lot of time with Katie during the first look - once the ceremony started I thought I never saw her. After the wedding I wondered if I would even have any ceremony or reception photos - then I received my photos!.... There were 800+ amazing ceremony and reception pictures!! She photographed my family, my husband, myself and the guests expressions and real emotions throughout the day and I was left with a truly wonderful collection of pictures that really capture our entire wedding day!

Having a great photographer and high quality photos were extremely important to us when planning our wedding. We got just that and more working with Meg and Jayme from Katie Slater Photography! Meg was so awesome and easy to work with. During all the planning, she made us feel comfortable and confident that our day would run smoothly. At our wedding, Meg (and Jayme) worked so hard to capture all of the important moments as well as the perfect candids. They were professional and seamless in a way that we didn't ever feel like we were posing. We ended up being trapped in a torrential downpour during our wedding and Meg truly went above and beyond to still capture us. Our photos are beautiful! Our guests could not say enough good things about our photographers throughout the night and again after seeing our pictures. Looking back on our wedding, hiring Katie as our photographer was easily the best decision that we ever made. Having met her three years before our actual ceremony, we had the incredible opportunity for her to shoot our engagement photos in the most idyllic setting possible, a secluded beach she found in California's Big Sur. One of these photos, consequently, became the birth announcement of our son, Jack. Having had the opportunity to get to know Katie over the past three years, she became so much more than our photographer. She became a sounding board for a new mom, planning her wedding 3,000 miles away with a Newbom. She became a friend. She was able to get to know our little family, and to use this knowledge to capture every precious moment when we finally joined our little family of three this past June. Not only is she incredibly talented, every single photo from the day more breathtaking than the last, she was a calming force throughout the entire wedding process, and managed to make even the most stressed bride (me) look exactly how I dreamed I would look; calm, composed, and above all else, happy. Katie, we cannot thank you enough for all you did for our wedding. I cannot recommend you enough. All I can say is, any bride that has the opportunity to have you in tow at their wedding should consider themselves very, very lucky.

Katie was probably the best part of our wedding, aside from the whole getting married part. We spoke with her before meeting and knew we were going to jive. She and her sister Meg (second photographer) were so good. They captured everything we wanted and more. They were like photo ninjas! I can't wait to have a reason to work with Katie again!

Choosing the right person to capture the best night of our lives was so important. We are SO happy we chose Katie Slater! From the second we sat down at our first meeting, we knew Katie would be perfect! She is very professional and her work is amazing! Katie was easy to communicate with, answered every question, and had great suggestions. We decided to do an engagement session with her first and we are so glad we did. It helped calm some of our nerves and get used to Katie's style. Our favorite part about Katie's style is that no photos felt forced. They were very natural and stayed true to our personalities. She was able to capture how we interact with each other without trying to put us in awkward, unnatural poses. The engagement photos came out perfect and we were so excited for our wedding day. We were so lucky to have Katie's sister Meg as our second photographer on the wedding day. They were a great team and really fun to spend the day with. They are both so calm and we could tell they are both passionate about what they do. We never felt rushed or pulled away from anything to take a photo. Somehow they even managed to take adorable photos of our camera shy ring bearer. They are both great with kids and getting through the family photos quickly so everyone can continue enjoying the wedding. We tried not to have too many requests, because we trusted Katie to do her job and capture the day. Katie was also very prepared. Not only with her own equipment, but with supplies for us as well! Emergency bobby pins, tide-to-go...she had everything handy and on her the whole night! The photos came out amazing. Better than we every imagined. We cannot stop looking through them. We have received countless compliments from family and friends on Katie's amazing work! We highly recommend Katie Slater Photography!!

Katie was absolutely the best photographer we could have ever hoped for. She was patient, kind, and incredibly professional, let alone an AMAZING photographer. She captures every beautiful moment and each small detail. She is incredibly meticulous in her work and puts her heart and soul into your special day. I can't say enough wonderful things about Meg from Katie Slater Photography and her second shooter Jayme. We absolutely loved sharing our wedding day with them - they kept us laughing, calm and Meg's husband even texted us doppler updates for a passing storm. Meg was responsive throughout the process, happily answering any questions and even coming to do a walk through the week before since she'd never shot at our location before. But at the end of the day, the photos speak for themselves. They're beautiful, they capture the unfiltered joy and the day and we'll treasure them forever. I can’t say enough good things about Katie Slater. The photos really speak for themselves – she is insanely talented and will capture amazing photos. Like, AMAZING. The emotions…the light…the perfect moment. She will get ALL that for you on your wedding day. But hiring Katie means SO MUCH MORE. What couples just can’t know until you experience it is just how incredible Katie is for you on your wedding day. When you meet her, she is unbelievably warm and informative. When you have an engagement session (which I never thought I would do, but was encouraged to do so by my planner, even just for the “posing” practice alone), Katie will reassure and guide you through the awkwardness and make you comfortable while creating a really fun experience (bonus: we got some of our favorite photos out of this session). This solidified my feelings that we had picked the best photographer possible. But on our wedding day, I just can’t emphasize how perfect Katie Slater is for you. Katie creates a complete aura of calmness and happiness. She met my bridesmaids and me while we were getting ready. I had a WONDERFUL wedding planner who checked in with me, but (thank goodness) was busy orchestrating vendors, set-up, etc. If I didn’t have Katie with me, I just don’t know how everything would have gone. While she was taking photos – and in completely unassuming, unobtrusive way – she would gently guide us on what we should be doing next…maids are going to want to start dressing…you’re going to want to take some slow sips of water if you are nervous…don’t forget to use the restroom…etc. etc. I know this may sound silly to some, but things really start to move quickly and in a blur, and having that reassuring voice meant so much to me. Whenever I would remember something – oh, my rings are here! my dress is there! – Katie already had the photo taken care of. Right up until our ceremony, Katie was with me making sure all was well and that we stayed on time, while allowing me to enjoy every single moment. I felt calm and happy throughout the day and I know this was thanks to Katie. And the biggest bonus is her second shooter, which in our case was her sister Meg. She is so genuine, kind, helpful, and funny. She seriously pulled a bobby pin out of thin air to fix my veil when it had a mind of its own. She laughed with us, guided us, and made us feel completely at ease. We were just so fortunate to have this team. Our parents and friends all noted how incredible our photographers were, and we agreed. While we initially met with other teams who we really liked as well, there was just something about Katie and her photos that set her apart. That intangible quality is what will make you so very happy to have selected Katie Slater as your wedding photographer.

I had to stop myself from reviewing Meg of KSP right after our wedding. Where to begin. When researching photographers, I only contacted Meg. Once I found her work, I knew I didn't want anyone else to photograph our engagement session or wedding. She suggested Harkness Park for our engagement photos, and we still get endless compliments. Two weeks before our wedding I came down with Bells Palsey, which affected the entire right side of my face. I immediately e-mailed Meg to let her know, and she called me the next day to reassure me that 1. I would still have a wonderful day, and 2. We would still have beautiful photos. She repeatedly offered (this includes on wedding day) to do a free "next day shoot" (not actually the next day) if I am unhappy with how my face handled being photographed. Judging by the preview photos sent, I have nothing to worry about. She managed to capture not only how we looked, but how happy we were throughout the day. Additionally, Meg and second shooter Jayme were total BOSSES on wedding day. 1. They were super on time, 2. Their personalities fit in great with us and our wedding party, 3. They took advantage of and totally dominated a first look location they had never shot at before (Haley Farm State Park, 4. They did this again at a wedding venue they had never worked (Mystic Yachting Center), 5. They were everywhere and nowhere. They shot every aspect of our wedding without being in your face or intrusive. Meg was, hands down, my absolute favorite vendor.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Katie Slater. First, Katie is personable and easygoing, I immediately felt at ease with her and confident in her ability to photograph my wedding day and she exceeded my already high expectations! I had a very windy outdoor ceremony, and despite the gale force winds, she still managed to capture amazing shots. I got my photos back fairly quick and they all look beautiful. Where to begin. We searched far and wide - literally all over the US - for a photographer that would grab all the little moments of our wedding day and tell a true story of how we felt, and how excited we were to be getting married. But we also wanted to have photographers at the wedding that made everyone involved in our wedding - family, friends, guests, (us!) - feel comfortable and at ease with what is naturally a very exciting/overwhelming/beautiful/happy day - Katie and her sister Meg did such an amazing job at blending in, never feeling intrusive or pushy, keeping on schedule without making anyone feel rushed, and overall - saving me, the bride, from feeling anything but butterflies. Both of them helped my now husband and I feel so loved, taken care of, and ultimately stepped in as quiet observers to remind us over and over again to take in little moments. Some of my most cherished memories of the wedding are the times spent with my now husband, when we were just alone smiling and laughing post ceremony and trekking outside through our venue's property with Katie and Meg to capture perfect lighting. It was one of the few moments where we were able to breathe, and take everything in - and we owe that to Katie and Meg. Brides would be incredibly lucky to have these two at their wedding, and they are honestly one of the best decisions we made throughout our entire planning process. Their quiet patience, calm demeanor, and professionalism made them a joy to be around and a wonderful addition to our day. I can't recommend them enough to any future couples who want a photographer who not only takes capturing all the important moments very seriously, but who also adds a special amount of kindness and calm to an otherwise whirlwind of a day.

If you are lucky enough to have Katie Slater photograph your wedding--jump on it! You will not be disappointed. I am still blown away by A) how amazing Katie Slater is as a human being and B) how stunning our photos came out! She fully captured the feeling of our wedding day in the photographs. This is our very first review as husband and wife and we are honored to be reviewing Katie Slater Photography. We felt at ease right from the beginning. My husband and I do not have very flexible schedules, but Katie happily accommodated, and Skyped with us on a weekday evening. Truth be told, we were sold prior to even meeting with her. As cliche as it sounds, photos ARE worth a thousand words. Katie made it a point to get to know our story and was able to tell it through her beautiful work. While we were stressed about other vendors during the planning process, Katie remained positive and extremely helpful (she sent us real life tips and things to consider, i.e. first look vs traditional, which really made our day seamless). The big day came and to no surprise, Katie and her lovely sister, Megan, were AWESOME! Our family and friends were raving about them - and this is before even seeing the photos! And let me tell you, our families don't just go raving about anyone. Once we received our photos, we were laughing, awe-ing, sighing, oh my god-ing, laughing, and just being all around happy. Through Katie's photographs, we are able to not only relive our beautiful day, but we are also lucky enough to see the joy in our loved one's eyes..and crazy dance moves!
