Yvonne totally saved me! I was looking for MONTHS for the perfect bridesmaid dresses for my Persian wedding. In Persian ceremonies, the bridesmaids are very involved in the ceremony and present in all your photos. All the bridesmaid dresses I found before hand were hideous,baggy, and unflattering. I then came across Yvonne’s shop online. I went to her store and inquired if she would be able to make EIGHT bridesmaid dresses that were sweetheart neckline, above the knee, form fitting, burgundy and in silk fabric. Yvonne told me she would be able to do it on time (we were only 4 months away from the wedding). The product of her work far surpassed my expectations! The dresses turned out GORGEOUS! Yvonne is a perfectionist who pays attention to detail and altered the dresses to fit every girls body exactly. On wedding day we could not stop getting compliments on how amazing the girls dresses looked. The silk fabric also photographed so beautifully! Yvonne is also a complete pleasure to work with, so sweet and kind and LOVES what she does. She is a true professional dress maker and SO talented. It is simply unheard of to be able to get a custom wedding gown at a reasonable price, and yet Kimera makes that possible. Yvonne is an amazing artist and it is a pleasure to work with her. The dresses she creates are simple and elegant, customized perfectly just for you, and amazingly well priced. I had visited a few of the larger bridal boutiques in New York City and was starting to hate the process of dress shopping, until I visited Kimera. It was relatively easy to get a weekend appointment at Kimera just a week in advance, whereas other boutiques had months-long waiting lists. The shop is small and cozy, with space for the bride and family/friends to sit and relax and offer opinions. Yvonne has so many beautiful designs in such lovely fabrics, and building from a few basic designs she works carefully with you to make decisions about length, neckline, back height, etc. I first visited Kimera in February and my wedding was 4 ½ months later – plenty of time to try on multiple styles, come back and choose a dress, and go through three fittings, and the dress was still ready one month early. My mother and I loved all of Yvonne’s styles so much that we both ended up purchasing dresses for our rehearsal dinner there, too! The shop has a great collection of vintage jewelery and hair pieces, and Susan at the shop worked with me to make a change to the hair piece I bought. Also helpful is Iris Lingerie which shares space with Kimera, making it easy to find the right undergarments that fit the dress.

Yvonne was fantastic. I did not want a traditional wedding, but I wanted to look and feel beautiful; Yvonne made that happen! From the moment I walked in the door she picked out a style wedding gown that would best fit my figure (which is usually what I choose). Going with non-traditional, she also helped me locate a silver-blue color as opposed to white. It was simple and elegant; we picked out a brocade for the bust area and a silk shantung for the skirt portion. I also got married in February and wanted outside photos. Yvonne designed a beautiful long silver coat that looked perfect with the dress. She designed everything to fit my measurements. Every time I went she made what seemed might have been the tiniest alterations, but they made such a huge impact on the fit of the dress. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend anyone use Kimera for a dress. She does have traditional dresses as well - but I could not have been more thrilled for my "something blue" dress that I can wear again on our first anniversary! :o)

I was thrilled with this dress, and everyone told me that they knew my dress wouldn't be quite traditional! It was a raw silk ivory trumpet gown with a simple halter neckline and a gorgeous red brocade sash and ruffle on the bottom. Yvonne, the owner, custom makes and tailors all the dresses, so you're sure to have a beautiful fit. She even provided the fabric to a nearby tailor so my groom could have a matching vest!

I got my wedding dress here for my Oct 2011 wedding. I was looking for a dress about 4 months before and all the stores except Kimera laughed at me that I was looking for a wedding dress "so late." I wanted a simple, elegant dress and Yvonne has gorgeous dresses that can be customized however you want. It was exceedingly reasonable at $600 flat and was custom fitted and fit me perfectly. I just wish I had a reason to wear it again. She also made a matching tie for my husband which worked out great.

I was not a typical bride, I'm older and didn't want to be in a powder puff dress. Yvonne had many classic and new styles that you could put your touches on and I loved it. She was receptive to what you want or didn't want. Made helpful suggestions and for the price, you just can't be it. The dress was made for me and me alone, the fabric and colors were beautiful. Service was fantastic.

My dress was custom designed. Three people emailed me after the wedding to contact the Kimera Design studio because they knew brides looking for a dress and were so impressed with mine that they had to share! My dress is one of a kind. Asian inspired - I even had a modern interpretation of an obi sash. Fit me like a glove! Perfectly constructed and fitted! I felt guilty at the price. This dress was more stunning that dresses that are 4 and 5 times more expensive. The designers were a joy to work with. We picked fabrics together and really worked together to design the perfect dress for my figure. I even looked 10 lbs lighter... Amazing!
