- Peter LeidyWedding OfficiantHi, I’m Peter Leidy. Just a few years ago, I officiated my first wedding ceremony. (Better late than never!) It was for my niece and her fiancé. I didn’t realize until the day that I wanted to have this role more regularly. I love weddings, other commitment ceremonies, and celebrations of life milestones. When two people commit to each other, I believe it is one of the most beautiful moments humans can experience. Having been married to the love of my life for over 35 years adds to my enthusiasm! The wedding day is a big deal; I want it to be just right for the couple, their families, and their guests. Weddings can sometimes be a blur, with all the nerves, expectations, and overall excitement of the day. I have a calming presence, keeping everyone as much as possible in the moment. I also use humor, whatever adds to the joy! I have a lot of experience speaking to large and small groups, as that’s what much of my work outside of Koru Ceremony entails. I do training, consultation, and conference speaking in the field of disability services and community inclusion. I also write and sing songs and play the guitar. - Rachel TatgeOfficiantHello, my name is Rachel Tatge, and I love weddings. I spent 12 years planning hundreds of weddings throughout southern Wisconsin, and my favorite part was always the ceremony. Leading up to the big day, I worked with my clients to hash out ceremony details and logistics. I would always attend the rehearsals to help organize and run them. And when it came time for my clients to walk down the aisle, I would always, always tear up. But when you’re a wedding planner, you often work 17-hour days and have to lift lots of heavy things. So, in 2021 I decided it was time for my wedding-planning retirement. When I reached out to Pat at Koru Ceremony to let her know, we started exploring the idea of transitioning to officiating. And it made total sense! I’ve been an ordained officiant for years, and I’ve always loved working with Pat and her Koru team. I knew from experience that Koru Ceremony’s officiants were the most passionate, organized, knowledgeable, and talented. In fact, I emulated Koru’s officiants whenever I ran a ceremony rehearsal. Between my ceremony know-how, previous collaboration with Koru Ceremony, and my own personal and organizational skills, positive personality, and passion for creating memorable, sacred moments, I knew I’d be a great fit as a Koru Ceremony officiant. - Úna Lucey-LeeWedding OfficiantMy name is Úna (pronounced oo-na) Lucey-Lee, and I'm excited to work with you to create your unique and memorable wedding ceremony. I am the youngest of six children born to Irish immigrants and my love for celebrations was passed down to me from my parents and their parents. Throughout my years of student and pastoral ministry, I have had the opportunity to share my inherited love for celebrations with many couples. Together, we’ve developed ceremonies that represented their story and honored the commitments they made to one another. Officiating weddings is sacred and beautiful work. I have much experience with and enjoy public speaking, planning events, and hosting celebrations. Officiating weddings combines these skills of speaking, planning, and hosting to produce impactful and memorable ceremonies. A few years back, I was honored to officiate the wedding of two high school friends who found their way back to each other after many years apart! I was born and raised in California. Since 2014, I’ve been glad to make my home here in the Midwest with my husband, Henry. We have a good life together. Among other things, we share a love of food, long and spirited conversations over a meal with friends, time with family, traveling to new places, and listening to podcasts while driving. On my own, I enjoy trying new recipes, reading (mostly non-fiction), monthly Zoom happy hours with my sisters and sisters-in-law, and watching trashy reality TV. Úna was incredibly involved in every step of the process. She took the time to get to know us both as individuals and as a couple. She guided us through the structure and flow of the ceremony and provided valuable input, but she made sure not to force her own opinions on us. She did a wonderful job helping us craft our vows and ensured that the ceremony was exactly what we wanted it to be.
On the day of the wedding the ceremony was everything that we hoped for. It was heartfelt, inclusive, and beautifully delivered. So many of our guests commented on how perfect and moving it was. Úna's presence was greatly appreciated on the day of our wedding. She made it very clear to us that she would handle all communication with the DJ and event coordinator to make sure that the ceremony went smoothly.

n an officiant was one of our tougher decisions for us during wedding planning. We went back and forth on asking a friend vs hiring a vendor. Pat was so personable and bubbly during our first meet, my husband and I knew the second we hung up on the Zoom meeting that we were going to hire her. Pat was so easygoing and responsive to questions/changes we made throughout the process. She was also a large help during our rehearsal and had a ton of great tips for the wedding party. Hiring Koru was one of the best decision we made for our wedding day.

unicator, and very experienced and knew all of the tricks of the trade, which a friend just wouldn’t have known (stepping out of the way for the first kiss, method for us repeating back words, logistics for walking down the aisle, method for rings exchange, etc.). We crafted our ceremony from Koru’s packet of ready-made sections for each part of the ceremony. Sarah went over it with us in detail beforehand and made all the minor tweaks that we asked for. She helped us have our ceremony remain focused on us and our relationship. Sarah ran the rehearsal very well and has great attention to detail. She was quirky and fun and we enjoyed it. Sarah also provided marriage license and name change information, which was super helpful. It was a great feeling to feel solid about our ceremony and officiant. She genuinely cares about us as a couple. Sarah did a great job! We would highly recommend her to anyone!

s the one that was suggested for us. As soon as we met with her, we knew we wanted to book with her - she was so friendly and engaged in the conversation. We could tell immediately that she would be the right fit - perfect energy level for what we wanted, we related to her on several personal levels and she was very compassionate when we explained certain family issues that we had that may be pertinent to the ceremony.
After our first meeting with her, we filled out all the information in the online portal to determine wording preferences for our vows/ceremony. Then we received the first draft of the ceremony, which included several comments and clarifications from Úna. Any questions we had regarding wording changes were met with enthusiasm and she gave us plenty of helpful feedback. We were so pleased with how the final draft came out.
We had a rehearsal dinner at a local restaurant and Úna attended to help us walk everything through. She helped keep all the members of the wedding party focused during the rehearsal, while being very chill and fun to work with. We had asked her to make a small announcement to remind people to not drink too heavily before the ceremony, and she delivered that announcement very tactfully and kept the mood light.
She arrived to the venue on time to make sure everything was situated for the ceremony, and made sure everything ran smoothly prior to guests arriving. After the ceremony, several different guests approached us to compliment the ceremony and Úna’s role in it specifically. She stuck around for a little bit during our cocktail hour and was very popular with all of the guests who spoke with her.
Overall, Koru was very easy to work with, and we are so incredibly happy that we chose Úna to work with. We would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for an officiant that will enthusiastically help curate the perfect, personalized ceremony.

pectations. Our wedding had several non-traditional elements and Úna not only supported our decisions but helped us make them perfect for all of our guests. She read over our vows (which were received very well), she helped us fine tune non-traditional aspects of our wedding so that they came across naturally, and she took all of our questions and concerns extremely seriously. Without her support our ceremony (and aspects outside the ceremony) wouldn't have been as amazing. Every single guest said that our ceremony was amazing, with some claiming that it was the best ceremony they had ever been to. We did not hear a single negative sentence about our ceremony even from the most traditional family/friends. Overall working with Úna was amazing and we cannot recommend her enough!

Úna Lucey-Lee made everything so easy for us and created the most perfect ceremony. She was very helpful in each step of the process including helping us decide on a unity ceremony that was both unique and meaningful to us as a couple. We were able to customize and personalize our ceremony. She sent us several drafts of the ceremony script and was incredibly receptive to any additional last minute changes we wanted to make.
Guests commented that our ceremony was one of the best they’ve heard due to the unique and personal touches that Úna incorporated. Many people asked us our relationship to Úna and were shocked to find out that we hadn’t known her long. People were very impressed with how well she seemed to know us and our history!

On our big day she showed up early and checked in with me. She made sure I was doing well and double checked we had all the forms we needed before hand to make everything run smooth. She then when to check in with the DJ and set up. The ceremony was perfect. Alex and I felt extremely comfortable up there with her and knew exactly what to expect. After the ceremony was over she helped us sign our license and congratulated us. We never felt rushed and felt heard the whole time.
Afterwards during the reception I can’t tell you how many compliments we got on the ceremony. All in all we were told it was beautifully written, the perfect length to get the point across, the delivery was spectacular and original. Our guests were also very moved by the ceremony and we were also told it was one of the best weddings they’ve been to this year, a lot of them being to many weddings already this year.
We can’t say how grateful we are that we chose you guys and felt our wedding ceremony exceeded our expectations. Thank you for providing a wonderful service.

us as a couple. When I came across Pat’s picture and read her bio, I had a feeling she was what we were looking for.
We had an initial video call with Pat, and she was so warm and welcoming, which drew us in. She provided us with all the tools we needed to create our perfect ceremony. We had plenty of styles, quotes, short readings, ceremony ideas, ring ceremony wording ideas, and vows to read though. We sifted through them all and chose what spoke to us and sent it back and she created the most beautiful ceremony for us.
After our ceremony many of our guests came up to us and said this was one of the best ceremonies they had been a part of because it truly felt personalized to the Bride and Groom.

ony, and we wanted to make sure our vows weren't something we had to write all on our own. And we got all of that. Pat was fantastic to work with. Her experience showed in making sure that all our concerns about the day and the marriage license/certificate processing were covered. During the rehearsal, she helped us make sure that all the details were covered for the next day so we didn't stress over where to stand, what to hold, any of the small things.
While we had an initial concern that our package, one of the lower packages, was going to leave our ceremony feeling a bit paint-by-numbers, with us plugging ceremony pieces into the places they went. But there was enough personalization that it really didn't feel like it during the ceremony. It felt personal, it felt unique, and it was fantastic. The whole process was smooth from start to finish. We would recommend Pat to anyone, and if other officiants at Koru are anywhere near her quality, we'd definitely recommend Koru as a whole to anyone.
