Working with Krumbs Cakes was very smooth. We set up a time for a tasting, talked through the design we wanted and that was it. The cake was beautiful and looked exactly like the image I had shared with the team. And the cake was so good that our guests ate the whole thing - all 3 layers - before we got a slice.

Krumb’s cake made and delivered us a perfect cake for our wedding. We were able to do a tasting beforehand, which helped us select the right flavors (Princess cake with double jam and Chocolate Cake with Kahlua Mousse filling). The cake was delivered on-time and tasted amazing! We are very happy with choosing Krumb’s cake for our wedding cake.

Christian’s cakes are delicious! A friend who was married in 2021 recommended Krumbs Cakes to us and I am so glad she did! Christian is so friendly and easy to work with, we loved our tasting and everything he makes is delicious! We went with a small 3-tiered cake in the cactus blossom flavor and a sheet cake in chocolate Kahlua. All of our guests loved the cake and I’m excited to order a mini version for our anniversary in 2024!

I ordered a two tier cake for my wedding. I struggled to find a place that could make a gluten free wedding cake and was relieved to find a place that didn’t charge an obnoxious amount for it being gluten free. I live out of the state and couldn’t fly in to taste test so it was a big hope that it would taste at least decent. My expectations were blown out of the water. The colors did end up being wrong the day of, because I requested a green color on the lower portion of the bottom tier with a silver band. We ended up getting a black color and gold band. The day of it was such a huge deal but having the colors I requested would have been nice. But to be honest, this was such an insanely good gluten free cake that I couldn’t be too upset about the colors. I have *never* had a gluten free cake that good in my life. The icing wasn’t too light or too heavy, and the flavors were so well balanced that I had to take a second to pause when I took my first bite. If I could order one have Krumbs cakes ship me a cake for my birthday every year I absolutely would.

We loved Christian and Krumbs Cakes! The cake tasting was one of my favorite parts of the wedding planning process, and the cake was even more delicious on the day of. We had a four-tier cake with alternating flavors (Meyer lemon and champagne & wild strawberry). The decoration was beautiful and exactly what we imagined. Highly recommend this vendor!

Mr. Roeder was recommended to us as we were looking for a special anniversary cake. Mr. Roeder welcomed us very friendly in his shop. After a short explanation, what we are looking for, he came up some very professional suggestions, which we agreed to. As we picked up the cake, what shall I say, the cake was astonishing. When we served the cake at our reception, we got the second surprise. The cake not only looked special, it also tasted out of this world. I only can highly recommend Mr. Roeder from Krumbs Cakes for any special desserts.

We were very happy with our cake! We wanted a not very traditional cake that looked more like ocean colors, and Christian did it perfectly! We don't normally eat cake but we loved ours and our guests did too.

Christian made our cake for our June 2021 wedding and it was absolutely DELICIOUS. My husband and I came for a cake tasting where we tried some of the most delicious cakes and fillings/frostings. I cannot eat gluten and Christian was extremely accommodating and had TONS of options! We decided on a 4-tier cake with different flavored layers. Two of the layers were chocolate cake with sea salted caramel filling. The other two with the Princess cake: vanilla cake with lingonberry jam and Bavarian cream. Guests were raving about how delicious it was (they didn't even know it was gluten free)! Thank you, Christian, for making us such a beautiful and delicious cake!

Christian is incredible!! The tasting we had was so delicious and he really can do anything! We are doing 2 traditional tiers and a vegan tier! He has gluten free options too! The team was phenomenal and our cake was amazing!

Our wedding was 10/19/19 and I stumbled upon Krumb's Cakes after being told by no less than seven cake bakers that they couldn't do what I wanted (a three tier square offset cake with a custom painted on design). We heard back from Christian within a few days and he was eager to schedule a tasting and meet us. We drove nearly 2.5 hours to the shop and were met with several DELICIOUS flavors to try. The cake was so moist and flavorful and it wasn't sickeningly sweet. We chose four flavors: cactus (THE BEST DECISION), chocolate and kahlua, chocolate and peanut butter, and sea salt caramel. Christian promised he could make our cake and we left feeling relieved and excited to have a cake for 80 (our guest total was 125 but we knew not everyone wanted cake). We paid $900 for our cake including delivery and "rebuilding" as our cake was transported in pieces so it survived the ride to our venue. Even though he got stuck in traffic because it was Pumpkin Fest weekend in Half Moon Bay and he was later than scheduled, the cake arrived and was set up beautifully. Everyone raved about the flavors and we had next to none left over. It was a smooth transaction from start to finish and we're definitely going to order from him again even though we live in Hollister. Thank you for a wonderful cake experience!

For our wedding, we got a small 2-tiered cake for display and cake cutting from Krumbs Cakes. Throughout the entire process, the employees at Krumbs Cakes were always quick to respond and very helpful (Selin was the one who always followed up with me). We tried ten flavors during our cake tasting, and they were all so good! We fell in love with the princess cake and cookies & cream. They have so many unique flavors, such as mango and cactus blossom. We had decided to go with another dessert option, but at less than two weeks before the wedding, that option fell through. We ended up getting sheet cakes, but wanted a display cake. Krumbs Cakes was able to accommodate our order on short notice, and Carol did a great job keeping me updated putting us in for a busy wedding weekend. We ended up getting the princess cake and it was perfect. Overall, I would highly recommend Krumbs Cakes and their super extensive list of flavors!

We were so happy with our wedding cake! Christian was so wonderful to work with and made sure that our cake was exactly what we wanted. We had a pretty big/heavy cake topper and Christian was diligent about making sure that it would work with the cake. Not to mention the flavors are so delicious!

Krumbs Cakes made our wedding cake and we were really happy with how it turned out. We looked at a number of bakers and did four cake tastings across the Bay Area. We had an excellent tasting with Christian where he had us taste a variety of samples and walked us through the differences between flavors, fillings, and frostings. His passion for baking and delivering a great product was evident throughout the tasting. He was honest with us about what works and what is popular from his experience. We ended up picking Krumbs Cakes because the cake was light, not too dense, and not too sweet, which was perfect for our wedding dessert which also featured ice cream. The process was smooth for finalizing our order and payment (I would recommend calling them instead of emailing). Our two-flavor, three-tier buttercream cake was beautiful and decorated nicely with the flowers that our florist provided. The cake delivery was a little off schedule (being set up during dinner instead of during cocktail hour) but was ready by the time of our cake cutting. The cake was delicious!

Christian is a professional. That is what you need to know. He does cake, professionally. For you, on your wedding day, that means you go to him, try a few samples, and he will sort it out from there. Then you pay a very reasonable fee and you are basically done. No hassle. The next thing that happens is you get married and, blammo, there is a beautiful cake ready to cut because Christian made sure it arrived in one piece, even though it was four tiers high and earlier that day traveled about 30 windy miles over bumpy roads. You will cut your cake, probably half drunk, and then eat some. Soon, people will tell you how beautiful your wedding was and some will mention the cake, the one Christian made as a professional and that you enjoyed. You will look back afterwards and see that the cake was the easiest part of your wedding planning but only because Christian pulled off what he pulled off, as a professional. So as a token of your thanks, you will write this: I highly recommend this man.

Christian was great to work with. Really an effortless process. The day of the wedding it arrived just as scheduled. Christian created a vanilla with Meyer lemon mousse filling naked cake for our destination wedding. It was exactly what we ordered: delicate, light, yet flavorful. Everyone loved the cake, and we were delighted with Christian’s service. Our wedding cake was the perfect ending to our Napa Valley summer wedding. We hope to order again from Christian on a future trip to Napa...just for the opportunity to enjoy his cake again.

My sisters and I went to a tasting because the wedding cake is the most critical item of the wedding according to them. We tasted all of the flavors, and it was a difficult decision but we selected lemon. The cake looked exactly like the picture I provided and it was the best wedding cake I have ever had. My family loved it and we will be ordering from this bakery for every special event.

Christian made our cake exactly the way we requested and did a wonderful job! We did a smallish cake, relative to our total guest count, as we didn't want to have just one dessert, so we did cake, smores, and donuts. However, the cake was definitely enjoyed by everyone - even the fondant was delicious, which is a huge compliment as fondant is such a challenge! We also loved our tasting with him - we had my now-in-laws in town during it and Christian was kind enough to accommodate all of us. He then even helped with letting my MIL down on some of her cake goals (she was envisioning something that was a huge departure from what my now-husband and I had talked about and wanted). Christian helped to defuse that particular bomb while offering cake samples, and what person doesn't take "bad" news better with cake? LOL. Christian was prompt in responding to any emails I sent him through the planning process and his tasting plate was delicious. Our cake, however, was the BEST - since our coordinator sort of forgot to save us a piece for our first anniversary, I'm planning to just order a tiny version of our wedding cake from Christian for our first anniversary. This is literally the first review I have ever written. Christian made my wedding cake a few weeks ago, and it was SO PERFECT! The design was exactly what we asked for, and it tasted AMAZING. We did part prickly pair, part chocolate salted caramel. Not only that, but he was great to work with (while I, on the other hand, was probably a pain in the a**). The tasting was very personal, and he had a lot of good tips for wedding planning and vendors. We also changed the size of the cake probably 4 times, and he was very patient with us. I HIGHLY recommend Krumbs Cakes.

We dealt with Christian strictly through email! Our destination wedding was in Tiburon and we never did a tasting! We picked flavors we liked and boy did Christian deliver! The cake was light, flavorful, and fulfilled my vision perfectly! The lady that delivered the cake finished the decoration off with fresh flowers we provided! We ordered our wedding cake from Christian in 2011 and he has been with us ever since - for birthdays, anniversaries, every special occasion. His cakes are gorgeous and delicious. We just celebrated my husband's 60th birthday and his chocolate-raspberry cake was a huge hit! We love Krumbs Cakes and highly recommend!

We picked Krumbs Cakes super last minute with 2 weeks left until our wedding. We didn't go in for a tasting but just went for it, after reading the reviews. We also needed the cake to be gluten free and it be delivered to Tiburon, CA (Marin County). We ordered a two tier gluten free cake with different flavors for each tier. Full disclosure, my fiance and I weren't super picky about the exact details of the cake so that also helped our stress levels as we selected the cake last minute. I was able relay what generally we wanted the cake to look like based on pictures the website had and ones I had emailed Christian. It worked out really well. We are so glad we went with Christian and his bakery. Not only do they have a million choices for gluten cakes flavors (usually it's vanilla or chocolate), the cake tasted really great. Even 2 weeks after the wedding (yes, we ate the entire top layer). Krumbs Cakes delivered the cake on time and it was beautiful. The price point was I thought, very reasonable and . If I remember correctly, the GF cake cost the same as a regular cake. The process to order our wedding cake left us feeling like we were just ordering a typical not-gluten-free cake. We were really happy with our experience with Christian and Krumbs Cake. I strongly recommend, especially if you want to be hands off and let the experts take care of this detail of your busy day.

Krumb Cakes was suggested to me by a close friend that had her wedding cake made by them. I'm so glad that I took her suggestion. The cake was exactly as I hoped, it was literally the conversation piece of our party. Not only was it decorated perfectly but the flavors were amazing as well. Best part is if it it 2 or 3 tiers each tier can be a separate flavor. Krumb cakes is professional, easy to work with and they pay close attention to what your vision is. I would recommend them over and over again.

Christian did our wedding cake and it was very beautiful and was the perfect canvas to work with our flower people. We went to him because he using simple and traditional ingredients. I love a good looking cake, but what matters to me personally is the taste. This is still the best cake I've ever had. When he made us a one year anniversary cake, we finished in one night. Any time I need a cake, I don't care where I live, I'll make sure Krumbs is the one to make it.

Christian is very friendly and easy to work with. My wedding gluten-free cake was delicious. None of the guests notice the difference. The cake was moist and not super sweet. He delivered th ecake and decorate with the natural flowers with left for him with the wedding planner. It was a completely yummy and stress free process!

We found Krumb Cakes when I was looking for my baby shower. The cake was beautiful and delicious! I loved being able to go in for a taste test to see what we would like best, it was so easy! Christian was a joy to work with at the cake tasting and he made the perfect cake for our wedding day. He actualized the vague ideas we had in our head and made a beautiful and delicious cake everyone loved!

My new husband and I aren’t typically the biggest cake fans, but when we tried a sampling of Krumb’s Cakes for our wedding cake – We were in HEAVEN! We only needed a small, two-tier cake as our main dessert was donuts, but boy did that cake far exceed our expectations! We made sure to steal a little extra for ourselves and we’re sure glad we did! We couldn’t decide on one flavor, so owner Christian, let us choose two which only made the whole process even more fun! We chose lemon for the bottom tier and then got adventurous and chose cactus for the top tier. We fell in love with uniqueness of the sweet cactus flavor and it paired so perfectly with the lemon. Our cake was so light, fluffy, and a dream to eat! And Christian was so easy to communicate with, always responding to our inquiries right away. We will certainly return for birthday and anniversary cakes!

We highly recommend Krumbs Cakes! Christian makes the most delicious cakes we have ever eaten. He made a cake for a pre-wedding event and also for our wedding, and our guests at both events raved about how delicious it was! We were able to save some of the cake from the first event for a couple weeks, and even after a couple weeks it was still moist and delicious. We love Krumbs so much we hope to continue getting all future cakes from his shop.

Krumbs was the best, from the tasting to the wedding day itself. They accommodated my Celiac Disease and everyone raved about how good the cake was.

I cannot rave enough about Christian, our wonderful cake maker. We are weird and wanted a TARDIS wedding cake because we are Doctor Who fans and omg a TARDIS cake. (Even though our theme was peacock/Art Deco) Other bakers we had spoken with wanted to charge upwards of $1500 for a TARDIS cake for 80ish people. Christian suggested we do a traditional 3 level cake in our wedding theme, and then also the TARDIS cake. It worked out SO well, our total for both cakes cost half as much as other people we got estimates from for just the one. It was also so delicious that I received complements and comments about it for DAYS after from people on Facebook. The flavors we did were chocolate with blood orange filling, and sea salt caramel. They were so good! He did a really good job on the TARDIS, it looked great! And the peacock cake was gorgeous! We loved them both. Also, Christian is just a really nice person to work with. He made it easy and fun and I can't recommend him enough.

Dear Christian, Your cake was simply amazing and really made me feel like the missing piece of what I really wanted for my wedding. I had it sitting next to me for the dinner and all I could do was keep stare at it all night! The cake was so amazingly good and well done and so beautiful I cannot thank you enough!

People say wedding cake tasting is one of the most fun parts of wedding planning. Until I found Krumbs, my fiance and I respectively disagreed. We met with a couple other vendors who were late, who were so nice in email but rude in person, and frankly, had cakes that were not delicious. We tasted cakes that were too sweet, too dense, too dry, and too boring. To be fair, we were looking for something that tasted like a wedding cake, and one vendor asked what we meant by that? We couldn't put it into words... something that we wanted to keep eating? Something that felt more special than an ordinary cake? But once we tasted Krumbs cakes, we knew that was it. My fiance also loved Kristian and thought he was so personable. His cakes were light, fluffy, and so delicious! He also has a ton of flavors, ranging from familiar flavors to unique ones like cactus. We went with "princess" flavor, and our guests loved it. For decorating the cake, after talking to so many vendors, I was kind of tired of describing what I envisioned so I told Kristian I didn't care and if we couldn't have something sparkly, it was fine. Luckily, he gently pushed me by asking questions and saying, "well it does sound like you want something sparkly, so let's make sure to keep that in there." He executed something beautiful and simple, and it was exactly what I didn't know I wanted. Bonus: he worked exactly within our budget and although it wasn't the biggest, he didn't make us feel cheap or awkward about it! Love Krumbs!

Gorgeous and Delicious!! Wow, we got so many compliments on our cake (and the Grooms cake that was just a fun stacked cake of tiered Oreos!) The cake was amazingly flavorful, moist, and delicious. Christian was so easy to work with – and as you see in the pictures – their work speaks for itself! Truly the sky is the limit when it comes to their capabilities! You can have your cake and eat it to – Krumbs is by far the best! Thank you for helping make our wedding unforgettable.

I love cake, my husband loves cake, and my family loves cake. This is not an understatement. I am so incredibly impressed with Krumbs Cakes and in fact will continue to use them to design all of my yummy treats! Christian is very professional and friendly. From our cake tasting it was apparent that he truly loves what he does. We sampled various types of cake from chocolate, to princess, to lemon and they were all fantastic! We ended up selecting princess cake and lemon cake for our wedding. My husband was so excited during the design process that I found myself a little anxious over what our cake would actually look like. Christian nailed it! It was not only beautiful, but tasted scrumptious. Everyone ate the whole cake (which I admit we were bummed about because we wanted to eat more later that night). Oh well, we will just be ordering a smaller version for our one year. On a side note, I also had Christian create my bridal shower cake. It was breathtakingly beautiful, and tasted even better! I cannot recommend Krumb Cakes enough! No other baker can compare.

Christian is the best - the cake not only delicious, but looked so beautiful. He matched the color to my bridesmaid dresses and made sure to get our topper just right. The flavors we chose were sooo decadent. Christian uses only the freshest ingredients and creates his cakes from scratch. Can't wait to have our last piece that we stored in the freezer!

Our wedding cake was AMAZING! Christian is not only a fantastic baker, but an amazing cake artist. The actual cake was above and beyond the wonderful sketch he did impromptu at our tasting. And when he said he would give me the cake of my dreams, he delivered! The cake we picked turned out to wow all of our out of town guests! It was moist, full of light flavors that were not overbearing at all, and he even added fresh local strawberries! It was by far the BEST wedding cake I have ever tasted!

We cannot rave enough about our cake. We did a tasting with the owner/chef and the cakes were amazing. Very different flavor combinations, but not over the top. And I typically hate fondant, even though it looks good, but this fondant is made in house with marshmallows, so is not as gritty sugary as others and actually tastes good! We ate all of it instead of pushing it to the side. He does AMAZING designs as well, all different colors, shapes, basically anything you want. And was also flexible with the price and options. We had a tight budget, so opted to do a smaller tiered cake, with more design and decorations, and then sheet cakes in the back for additional serving, which helped with the cost. We had a steampunk style cake, bronze color with gold and silver gears and key shapes and heart locket and it looked way better than we even expected. I also ordered a groom’s cake shaped like a camping trailer, I sent him a picture of our trailer and it looks identical! I was amazed how good it came out. He can do anything! AND it tastes good! He was also incredibly easy to work with and communicate with, quick to respond and flexible, definitely the best vendor I experienced out of all our wedding vendors.

We chose Christian as our baker for our wedding cake. So glad we did. He came highly recommended by both our wedding venue(Inn Marin) and our florist (Kate's Blossom's). He is very easy to work with. The cake tasting was my husband's favorite part of the wedding planning process. Christian had us try so many different cake varieties at the tasting. We were stuffed. The hardest part was choosing the cake because we liked everything we tried. The peanut butter/chocolate cake was by far the best cake I had every tasted! We went with a white cake with Lemon icing. I got tons of compliments from guests that it was one of the best wedding cakes they had tasted. It was so moist. My best friend who hates desserts ate her whole piece. Christian delivered the cake on time and was very quick in replying to emails and setting up a meeting time.

We were referred Krumbs Cakes by our caterer Piazza D'Angelo and because we were running out of time we took a big risk and just ordered without a tasting. We picked flavors we liked, sent a few pictures and rolled the dice. Wow - did we get lucky. Owner Christian Röder gave us a striking cake that was also just amazingly delicious (we did chocolate with a chocolate mint creme filling.) Beyond this we found Christian to be pleasant and responsive and generally just great to deal with. Highly recommended! Thank you!

Christian made the most exceptional four tiered cake. I had shown him a few pictures of a beach themed cake and described my wedding to him. He created the most amazing cake and it was so delicious. If you need a cake for any event, please go see him. I was stunned at how beautiful the cake looked when I saw it at the reception. The detail of the seashells and the waves was perfect. He is very reasonably priced. I found him to be alot less for a four tier cake than anyone in the Bay Area. The price is what drew me to meet with him, but once I tasted the cake I was hooked. It just melts and is the best cake I have ever eaten!

Christian is an amazing cake artist, yes....ARTIST! He made both of the cakes for my sister's weddings and I had to use him for mine! It was all delicious and perfect.

We went to Christian for our first wedding cake trial. He made us five or six perfect little cakes, and each of them were GLORIOUS. there was one in particular - the peanut butter cake, both my husband and I loved it, but we knew it was only for the brave. our favorite was the very berry cake and the princess cake he made - really the best cake I had ever tasted. If you're near San Rafael, I urge you to TRY KRUMBS CAKE OUT! Seriously, best cakes ever and he's always up to the challenge of creating flavors that you love. Sadly, in the end we had to go with a different baker to cater to our asian guests, but I decided to order my husband a grooms cake from Krumbs cake. Well partly because he couldn't stop talking about the cake even till a week before his wedding! So this review is for the grooms cake. Christian helped me conceptualize the design for the cake, it was soccer-related, of course. And he had to make a little man kicking a ball too. I loved how he made sure the little details, like the name on the soccer jersey, the socks, the shoes - all perfect. The cake was delish too (we went with the very berry, yum)! My sister-in-law thinks the man looks like my husband too! But not just that, Christian goes beyond skill and art - because we didn't live in San Rafael, it was difficult for me to coordinate a time to meet with Christian to pay for the cake without my husband knowing. In the end he suggested just paying for the cake when he delivered it on the wedding day. Unfortunately on that day everything was so chaotic that I was unable to pass the payment to him, etc. But Christian left the cake anyway! We called him the Monday after the wedding before flying off for our honeymoon but he left us a message insisting that we enjoy our honeymoon and make the payment when we're back. That blew us away. Thank you Christian. You and that cake made my day, and it made the difference for us. You deserve that 5 stars and more!! Now I can't wait for my one-year anniversary ;)
