Owner Max Surikov has been documenting weddings since 2005. Since then, he has photographed over 750 weddings and over 700 engagements. He prefers to work unobtrusively, allowing each event to unfold organically while he documents the authentic spirit.
Maxim Photo Studio combines various photography styles, allowing Max to find the approach that best suits your needs. Special packages are offered for destination weddings, so each magical moment can be documented no matter where you celebrate. On the day, drone footage can be incorporated to capture the day from a unique angle. Max is also happy to work alongside an assistant photographer for full, documentary-style coverage. His images are shared as digital files, prints, and wedding albums. Engagement photoshoots, boudoir photography, and trash-the-dress sessions are also offered.

e our engagement pictures, because we hadn’t had professional pictures taken of us before, but Max made it not only comfortable, but fun. He is flexible and easy to be around. He is willing to do anything you want and help your visions come to life, but also willing and happy to provide suggestions (this was great for someone who was sometimes indecisive and unsure of exactly what I wanted). On the wedding day, he made everything stress free, and went above and beyond in many ways (he had a hook to help with the buttons that I didn’t even think to bring)! He took amazing pictures, and there was a great combination of portraits, candids, and some more artistic style pictures that were so great! From the moment he showed up, he was never in the way, but provided helpful tips and directions to ensure we had the best photos. My makeup artist even said to me “this is exactly the type of photographer that you want, you are going to have great pictures.” She was right, the pictures were wonderful, and they were delivered very quickly. We had the best day and wish we could do it all over again. If we could relive the day, we would hire all of the same vendors, including Max, everytime.

Max does a great job of making you feel relaxed in order to get the shots that fit the mood and setting. He’s also extremely adept at using light, angles and vantage points to get creative and artistic shots that incorporate nature and the elements. You’ll get plenty of traditional shots with traditional poses, but you’ll get just as many unique ones that have the “wow” factor.
As for our actual wedding in Cincinnati, Max kept everyone loose and on schedule. We took hundreds of photos before the ceremony – with dozens of combinations of immediate family, extended family, and the wedding party. It was a whirlwind, but Max got all of the shots we wanted and made everyone feel comfortable in the process. I know because people told me that. The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception photos were great as well: the perfect mix of formal and candid.
Max definitely comes prepared. He’s seen it all and does anything and everything he can to ensure that the day goes off without a hitch. All in all, we couldn’t have been happier with the finished product and recommend Max enthusiastically and without hesitation.
