Communication was quick during booking, but the overall process—especially scheduling my makeup and bridal trial—was quite challenging.
I understand that vendors in the wedding in...dustry can get busy, but there was very little flexibility throughout the process.
I was planning my wedding from Oklahoma, so coordinating everything in North Carolina was already difficult. Unfortunately, this vendor ended up being one of the more stressful parts of planning. For my trial, I provided Mena with multiple dates I would be in town between September and December. We initially settled on October, but had to reschedule due to complications with her pregnancy.
I completely understood the situation, but even after providing additional dates I knew I’d be in town, she was on maternity leave from November through January. Since I wasn’t willing to book another flight just for a trial in February, we ended up scheduling it the week of my wedding. She did offer for me to work with her lead staff instead, but I preferred to stay with her.
On the day of, everything turned out okay. The hair and makeup weren’t perfect, but they did last throughout the night. Mena was somewhat personable, but overall, the process leading up to the wedding felt like a bit of a nightmare.
