I got married in the spinning room on November 23rd 2019. The room was more beautiful than I could have ever imagined! The best part about it all is the room is so gorgeous by itse...
lf, it hardly needed any decorations. The year round twinkle lights make it so romantic. Karina the coordinator was very helpful and so easy to work with. I am so happy we chose the Heritage Center.
I love the rustic setting of the Mission Mill Museum. I was married in their little Chapel (extremely small, but quaint and breathtaking) and had a larger reception in the Spinnin...
g Room. There were so many places for beautiful pictures. Since I was married in December, there were still lots of beautiful lights up.
The people at Mission Mill were so kind and generous. They helped me so much through my wedding plans and always returned my phone calls the same day. I would recommend this to all...
my future friends who are getting married.
I had chosen the Mission Mill as my venue before I even had a ring on my finger! And as soon as I showed my fiance the grounds, he loved it too. It's set in the heart of Salem, but...
you'd never know it. Once you walk through the gates you're in your own secluded haven. We were going for a vintage vibe and the Mill suited us perfectly.
We were married in July, so we had an outdoor ceremony with the historic church in the background, and our reception was held in the Dye House...perfect for a smaller guest list. It felt very intimate. Of course there is a larger room as well if you are having a very large wedding. One of my favorite things about the Mill is our guests were free to explore the grounds at all times. And there is so much to explore...the mill race, historic buildings, ducks swimming in the pond. Of course these all make for fabulous photo ops as well.
And everyone we worked with was more than accommodating. They actually changed facility coordinators right in the middle of our planning, but it was never a problem. Both women we worked with were friendly and helpful. Our new coordinator even came in super early the morning of the wedding so we could drop off last minute decorations. And they were always available to answer questions and let us look around.
And you get all this for a fabulous price. I checked out other nearby venues that didn't have nearly as much to offer, and they were way more expensive.
I couldn't be happier with the way our wedding day turned out and all of our guests loved the Mill. I really can't say enough good things about it.
It was a beautiful choice to have our wedding here, especially after the holidays; they still had their Christmas lights up making for some awesome pictures. The only complaint tha...
t I have is that 2 weeks before my wedding they changed event coordinators making me very nervous but everything turned out spectacular!
After nearly a decade in children's ministry, I had amassed quite the potential wedding guest list. Between that and my parents' budget, I knew that I had to find a unique venue th...
at could accommodate 300 guests without breaking the bank or requiring an outside wedding, which every Oregon bride knows is not the best idea in October. After two months of scouring the web every day, my mom found the Mission Mill Museum at the Willamette Heritage Center. We met with Laura, toured the grounds, and I fell in love. The grounds are picturesque and you'd never know you were in the middle of Salem.
The Spinning Room was exactly what we wanted: big, easy to decorate, and inexpensive. I was able to execute my vision, and Laura and the rest of the staff were very easy to work with and made sure that our day was perfect. My wedding planner, decorator, and myself needed to visit a few times during the planning process, and Laura was very accommodating and was always available to help us figure out what we needed to. Due to timing issues, we were going to have to decorate the day of the wedding, but at our last meeting with Laura, we found out the day before was open for decorating and Laura gave us those extra hours for free.
We had our ceremony and reception in the Spinning Room, with people already sitting at their tables during the ceremony, and thanks to half of our guest list not showing, we had more than enough room for mingling during dinner and dancing (we still would have had enough room even if all 300 people had showed up). Nearly every guest was in awe of their surroundings, partly because of the decor and partly because of the natural beauty of the mill. When you are there, you are surrounded with beauty and history, and I could not imagine having gotten married anywhere else.
I highly recommend the Mission Mill Museum!
The Spinning room was so pretty lit up in the November evening. I loved the help and staff we recieved. I had to pay for security and only 1 security guard showed up instead of 3 b...
ut I still had to pay for the 3.
I had both my ceremony and reception at the Mission Mill last month (10/17/2010). We booked the Dye House and church in April 2010 for Oct 2010 and received a 15% discount as they ...
were offering a promotion at that time.
I was able to schedule everything fairly easily but then again I'm used to doing business in this town and my expectations were pretty low. Haha! However, staff is friendly and they followed my instructions exactly as to how to arrange everything. The other reviewer mentioned the inadequate PA system and that is true. However, my last walk-through that I arranged in August was with the facilities guy who knew a lot about the venue and he told us at that time that their speakers would not work well for music so we planned otherwise. We had no problem with access for guests, everything was open and ready to go. I just received my deposit back yesterday. Overall I was very happy with whole experience. The Dye House is absolutely beautiful, we did minimal decorating as it doesn't really need it. The guests enjoyed walking around the grounds as well. My weekend was fortunately sunny and warm for October.
The Mission Mill has several beautiful historic buildings, including a little white Chapel. The grounds looked great and were fantastic for photo backgrounds. However, the "facil...
ities coordinator" left much to be desired. She was hard to get ahold of, answered questions incorrectly and on the day of toured several groups through the reception area as it was being set up. We were told that the room had a sound system ready to use with an IPOD- turns out it was a PA system NOT meant for music! Also, staff kept locking gates behind people so guests were stuck out in the rain and had to walk out of their way to get back in.
It was a *really* great price, and again, was very beautiful. Overall, I really wanted to give them a good review but the details really killed the day. Use the Mission Mill only if you have a Wedding Coordinator that can follow up on *everything* and make sure it is done correctly.
