3. Unfortunately we had a family medical emergency where we had to reschedule our engagement photoshoot on short notice. Pent remained so empathetic and accommodating with rescheduling our HMU trial. She responded promptly to emails and texts, and was very helpful in explaining how to best prepare for our HMU sessions. On our engagement photoshoot day, Pent arrived on time despite the commute from Nyack to Poughkeepsie, NY. She was so precise, gentle, and swift in executing the warm, soft glam look I sought for a cozy autumn photoshoot with my fiance. You can just see the warmth of her handiwork glow through these engagement photos! I immediately knew then that she was the perfect HMUA for my wedding day in October 2024.   My wedding day in Poughkeepsie had three different ceremonies and a pretty jam-packed timeline. I had myself, five bridesmaids, the MOB, and the MOG all getting full hair and makeup sessions. Pent and her teammates Lisa and Jaewon arrived right on time and even finished ahead of schedule. Pent focused on my bridal hair and makeup, and Lisa and Jaewon did the hair and makeup for my bridesmaids, mom, and the groom's mom. I sought a more light pink and peach-toned soft glam makeup look and the whole team delivered incredible results. We all felt comfortable and beautiful that day. We were all so impressed with Pent and her team’s efficiency and expertise in styling thick Asian hair and working with women with East and Southeast Asian features. We cried a lot of happy tears that day and our makeup held up incredibly well even without touch-up services. I also loved the transitional hairstyle Pent gave me so I could wear my hair fully up during the day events and half-down during the evening reception. I highly recommend Pent and her magical services. She’ll make you feel like a Disney princess for all your special occasions!

y products. Not only was Pent patient, but she went above and beyond by ensuring the products she used did not have the ingredient I was allergic to. She is also very intelligent - I have dry skin, and she emphasized to me to avoid using retinol the month of, which I use every night, as it could dry my skin more. Typically, my under eyes wrinkle with makeup, but I had absolutely no issue the day of. She also matched the example pictures I showed her on me - and she actually did better than them! I never wear my hair up because I hate how I look, but she truly did such an amazing job. Pent is wonderful - do not hesitate booking her.

searching for an artist, it was really important to me to find someone experienced with Asian features who could create a style that complemented them and Pent absolutely delivered. I wanted a look that was natural but still polished enough for the wedding day. Having a trial to test run the look was really helpful, as it made me realize I wanted a bit more contour and a different hairstyle. Pent listened carefully to my feedback and on the day of, executed it perfectly. I felt beautiful but still like myself. My makeup lasted all day through heat, humidity, and even happy tears during the ceremony, thanks to her thoughtful touch-up kit. I would highly recommend Pent to anyone looking for a talented and caring makeup artist who really understands how to make you look and feel your best.

iewing on Instagram. From the first communication she was friendly, professional, and straightforward. She travelled to me for our trial which was huge and I loved the trial. She looked at photos I had saved to recreate the perfect makeup style I was looking for. She was honest and realistic about my goals in order to make me feel best. She found the most lightweight fake eyelashes for me to wear which were important as I don't like most of them. The day of the wedding herself and the other MUA she brought were great, friendly, and professional. She worked with my bridal party to make sure that they felt their best! I loved my hair and make up and my husband did too! I would highly recommend her to anyone looking (she did a great job on all my bridal party who were non-asian) especially Asian brides!

rings (hair and makeup started ~6am)! I also had a lot of flash pictures taken of me as the lighting was low at my venues- my makeup looked flawless! (see pics) As an Asian bride, I hunted for a makeup artist in Upstate NY who I felt I could trust. I have been in several weddings and they simply don't understand how to do makeup on Asian faces. Even more "luxury" HMUAs didn't have diverse portfolios in my area. In the end, I found Pent and it was 110% worth it to have her travel Upstate and for me to have to drive downstate to do the trial. I've actually had like 5 brides I know hire Pent for their wedding - she is truly a gem! (I am cross-posting this review to other sites)

I was confident to book two trials with her: one in March 2024 (booked her shortly after), and one a week before my wedding in September 2024. I had 14 people get their hair and makeup done the morning of the wedding (not everyone got both services) and we finished well before schedule. Everyone felt their requests heard and any last-minute changes were accommodated, including my own. Her professionalism, passion, and attention to detail truly helped me feel confident on my wedding day. And YES - the hair/makeup stayed on ALL night. I’d love the chance to work with her again in any event.
