There was no where else we could have imagined getting married! Planet Bluegrass is absolutely stunning - especially in the fall. All the colors and different backdrops for photos ...
- the St. Vrain River, cliffs, grain silo, sandstone buildings, etc. - made for such a memorable, flawless and gorgeous day. The Wildflower Pavilion is very spacious and the market lights elevate its interior. The entire venue comes with great amenities for a convenient planning process and wedding day, plus the property is huge so you can get creative with ceremony and cocktail hour layout. PB and its staff were a dream to work with and this venue is perfect! I wish we could go back and do it all again!
Such a beautiful venue that showcases nature and good vibes! Our guests kept admiring the scenery, whether they were local or from out-of-state. The cliffs, trees, river, old build...
ings and silo are truly spectacular and made for amazing photo opportunities! It fulfilled our dreams for a Colorado wedding. And our dog got to join! Our one complaint was that the Wildflower Pavilion was not heated. They claimed that the heat was on, but we could not feel any warmth and all our guests ate dinner in their puff jackets. It was frigid in there! Just something to keep in mind for a fall wedding and definitely a disappointment when you pay so much for the venue. We felt bad that our guests were freezing and I hate that most photos during reception have everyone in their winter coats. Good thing we had an epic dance party to warm us up!
Planet Bluegrass was the perfect backdrop for the wedding of our dreams! From our initial tour to the day of, their staff was so helpful, kind, and quick to respond to any and all ...
of our questions. Any words would be an understatement to how beautiful of a venue this is. If you're looking for a magical setting to host your big day then this is it!
Planet Bluegrass in one word: MAGICAL. Most beautiful venue. It was amazing working with Amy and everyone else at Planet Bluegrass. Thank you for making Pierce & Joe’s wedding the ...
best day of their lives. Way more than 5 stars!
Planet Bluegrass is the most stunningly beautiful Colorado wedding venue! As Coloradans with a lot of friends and family from out of town, we wanted an authentic Colorado experienc...
e for our guests, and Planet Bluegrass delivered! The property is stunning, it's the perfect backdrop for a laidback and lively celebration. Especially working with other vendors (caterer, planner, florist) who had worked at Planet before, the whole process was so easy!
This venue is what wedding dreams are made of. My husband and I had to postpone our original 2020 wedding date and Plant Bluegrass was so flexible in letting us hold a 2nd date whi...
le we were making our decision and then finally letting us move our date without any problems. One of the main reasons we did follow through with our rescheduled wedding (since we still eloped in 2020) was because we dreamed of a magical day at this magical venue. Let me tell you it was worth the wait and more. The staff is very responsive and accommodating and the pictures speak for themselves. WORTH EVERY PENNY.
Before hearing about Planet Bluegrass as a potential wedding venue, my husband and I had not had the pleasure of visiting. Now, we can't wait to return to our marriage venue again ...
and again to listen to incredible live music. Our experience with Planet Bluegrass was absolutely top notch. Amy was incredibly communicative throughout the planning process and answered any and all questions promptly and completely. Being that we were planning throughout the pandemic, there were quite a few question marks but Amy and our day-of event manager, Sally, fielded them all and then some. The day of our wedding was an absolute dream. Planet Bluegrass shone like the natural gem it is. We couldn't have picked a better venue to reflect our personalities, and we're so grateful we had a chance to partner with the great folks at Planet Bluegrass for our wedding.
Absolutely beautiful venue that gave us the outdoor Colorado vibe we wanted. The team at Planet Bluegrass was wonderful to work with, very responsive and worked with our other vend...

We had our wedding at Planet Bluegrass and it could not have been more magical! We fell in love with the venue and could not have been happier with out decision to have our wedding...
at Planet Bluegrass. The setting with the St. Vrain river flowing under the red cliff side is absolutely breathtaking. The staff was incredibly easy to work with and very accommodating for our needs. Our wedding day turned out perfect and it all started with this venue, cannot recommend it enough and you will not be disappointed with how your day turns out. We even had a fisherman float by on his inner tube and caught a fish directly behind where we had our ceremony! It could not have been a more perfect Colorado wedding!
This was truly the most amazing venue in the entire front range. The property is absolutely stunning. So many of our guests (including CO residents) commented to me that this was t...
he best venue they're ever been to. I would agree. I 100% recommend Planet Bluegrass to any couples.
Planet Bluegrass was unbeatable for our wedding venue. Our guests cannot stop raving about how beautiful it is. Yes, as some reviews mentioned you are paying for a venue not a wedd...
ing planner or coordinator so don't expect them to do that for you. That aside our venue manager Jeana was always available and answered any question I had. She was there for the rehearsal and the day of and was very kind. Working with Amy from Planet Bluegrass on the alcohol order was a breeze. Every time I called the offices to make payments the team was always pleasant. If you do choose PB for your venue I highly recommend A Spice of Life catering - my day ran like clockwork thanks to their team. Don't let other old reviews deter you - we still can't stop thinking about our day and you cannot be the backdrop that Planet Bluegrass has to offer!
We couldn't have imaged a better venue for our wedding. The property itself is stunningly beautiful - the combination of the natural beauty and the buildings on the grounds - it's ...
really second to none. The staff was also extremely friendly and helpful throughout the planning process and on the day. We worked with both Sally and Amy and they were super quick to answer questions and worked with us on making our day truly perfect. We had so many of our guests tell us it was the most beautiful venue they'd ever ever seen and (I might be biased!) but Planet Bluegrass is truly a magical place. We couldn't have asked for anything more!
Wonderful venue, everyone thought it was so beautiful. I would not record using this venue for a wedding without using other vendors that have worked here before though. Planet Blu...
egrass really is more of a music venue than wedding venue BUT it makes for a wonderful wedding day nonetheless. I would absolutely choose to do my wedding at Planet Bluegrass again. (Highly recommend using A Soice if Life Catering if you have it here though!)
We decided on Planet Bluegrass for our Ceremony and Reception venue almost at first sight. The word 'beautiful' does not do this property justice, it is breathtaking. There are acr...
es of well-maintained beautiful grass, a river that runs through, and you are tucked into a canyon of privacy. The prices have risen for Saturday weddings since choosing them to be our venue, but to be honest, we would still choose them. We were allowed to have our dog at our ceremony and present for pictures (on leash) and our point-person at the venue had a contact to pick-up our pup for boarding and daycare after the ceremony (Matt with Stone Canyon Kennels) - making for a worry-free day. The tables provided with the venue are also beautiful and hand-made. If choosing this venue, I would highly recommend A Spice of Life to cater as Dawn knows the property like the back of her hand and made the entire day of our wedding perfect and seamless. The pictures don't do it justice, do yourself a favor and go take a tour, it's incredible!
Planet Bluegrass in an INCREDIBLY beautiful venue. The day of our wedding was gorgeous, and we received so many compliments on everything. There is an outdoor bar for cocktail hour...
, and an inside pavilion for the reception. We got married near the river, and it was gorgeous. There is enough space to easily fit 180 folks (I think it holds up to 300 or so in the reception pavilion), but it wasn't too open that it looks empty. We worked with Jeana as the venue coordinator. Keep in mind - PBG folks are a little more laid back than your average vendor, which ended up being a better fit for my personality closer to the wedding. Personally, I found it hard to communicate with Jeana in the beginning; I had SO many questions, and I think she was annoyed with all of my emails and phone calls. But, once I handed things off to my day-of coordinator (not required, but highly recommended for this venue), my coordinator had no complaints - and she said Jeana was very responsive and answered all of her questions. On the day of my wedding, they closed 66, so no one could get through to the venue. I was in a complete state of panic (all the planning for nothing!), but Jeana called the Lyons Town Hall to get updates for us, the coordinator, and our vendors. They opened the road around 1:30 (for a 4 wedding). We rushed all afternoon, and the day ended up turning out great. I don't think that would have had the same experience somewhere else. They seemed really strict in the beginning, but ended up being flexible to make sure the day was perfect. If you have the expectations of a laid-back "bluegrass" venue, then you'll have a great experience. If you are looking for something more formal or traditional - look elsewhere.
I really really love this venue, but the lack of communication is what turned me off. I wanted so badly to believe that the good reviews would be my experience as well, but it just...
wasn't and I had to pass this venue up because of that. First, they are quite inflexible about setting up a time to go take a tour. If you work somewhere that doesn't let you off in the middle of the day on a Tuesday or Thursday, then you'll have to do a sneaky, desperate drive-by like I did. I still wasn't fully deterred because the site is so beautiful, so I emailed and asked for a hold on a date. They never responded. That kind of unprofessionalism just blows my mind for a "product" that is so expensive. There are so many more beautiful venues, even in Lyons, that treat their clients like they should be treated, that after I received no response, it was very easy to move on. Glad I was able to do that and reward a different beautiful Lyons venue for having much better business practices.
My husband and I were just married at Planet Bluegrass a couple weeks ago and it was so beautiful!!! I would do it there again in a heartbeat! We had a great experience working wi...
th one of their venue manager's Sally. We love her! She was very responsive to our questions and just an all around great person to work with! I think the older negative reviews had to do with their previous venue manger who sounded difficult to work with. Also in the last few months PB has taken measures to be more accommodating as a wedding venue as not just a festival venue. I will say that because they are still primarily a festival venue, it is up to the bride and groom to take full control of the planning process and the PB management clearly states that you should have a wedding planner as they take a backseat to any preparation and are just there for the walk-through and day of. So if you go into it knowing that and knowing it's up to you to make it all happen then I think you will be very pleased with your experience working with them. It's all about setting your expectations and knowing what you're getting with a venue. And that being said I absolutely loved my experience and would recommend this place. Our guests were blown away with how beautiful our wedding was. I wish we could do it all over again!
I know that previously the reviews of the venue were not great. However they really did a wonderful job for us. They now have specific people in charge of liaising with those who a...
re renting the space for a wedding-- Jeana was our gal and she was super helping and accommodating. She was our one source of contact, and was there at the walk-through, the rehearsal, and through the entire day-of. She worked with our caterer and wedding coordinator to ensure that nothing was missed, and that our family felt taken care of.
The site itself is beautiful. There is a great cottage that is used as the bridal suite with a kitchen and a bathroom. We both got ready in there together. There is also a yurt with air conditioning which is just a nice hang-out spot away from the noise (or for before walking down the aisle.)
It does get warm, so I recommend choosing a shaded area for the ceremony, and renting umbrellas. But our guests are still gushing about how magical the venue was. And we love that we can go back for shows and always remember the day of our wedding!
The one issue we had was they never reminded us to pay the rest of our deposit. We had to call them about it.
This venue is absolutely breath taking. We loved every part of it from the creek running by, the cliffs, the beautiful grass, and views. it was perfect for an outdoor wedding!
Planet Bluegrass offered us a venue to celebrate what became the happiest day of our lives. The location and rustic nature of this property is true Colorado. Since we are both nati...
ves to this beautiful state, we knew we wanted a backdrop that would allow us the natural side of Colorado, while giving us and our guests a safe and beautiful space to celebrate our wedding. We had the pleasure of working with Julie throughout the process and her dedication and support to us made us feel both welcomed and ready for our wedding. While we decided to go with another food vendor, Dawn with Spice of Life came in to be our bartender. She ended up doing so much more behind the scenes to keep our day going smoothly.
We are approaching our one year anniversary of being married and we are still (on a daily basis) pinching ourselves for the wedding we were able to put together at PB. If you are a Colorado native or someone who loves the outdoors and nature, this is a fantastic venue!

azing it is. The team there though has been awesome all along. We emailed them right after we got engaged and Julie from Planet Bluegrass immediately got back to us with all the info and available dates. We went back and forth a few times and had a contract signed pretty soon after. Julie has been very helpful. She seems to know the venue, community and vendors around the area very well and has provided some great recommendations for caterer, transportation, rentals, etc. and is always answering our last minute questions at any time of the day. We are really looking forward to September!!!
Planet Bluegrass is one of the most fabulous venues. Julie was very helpful and helped us with all of our wedding details. We had a wonderful time. And, our guests will remember...

Planet Bluegrass is beautiful, and I can't picture getting married anywhere else. BUT it came with more headaches and stress than anyone paying for a service should reasonably expe...
ct. If you are going to book them, hire A Spice of Life catering and a day of coordinator, along with other vendors who have worked there before. Dawn with a Spice of Life has done a ton of weddings there, and my day would have been a disaster without them. She and her team are amazing.
Julie is just not competent at what she does. Countless emails went unanswered, her demeanor and tone is troubling, and on my wedding day I was genuinely concerned that she wouldn't have asked anyone to open the gate. She even told me I could go look at the property without her, only to drive all the way to Lyons to see that a wedding was going on. I reached out to several coordinators who said they wouldn't work at Planet Bluegrass because of past experiences at Planet Bluegrass. She did, though, come through with a beautiful lighting package when she failed to respond to too many emails (TBH, it should all be included, it's not like they take it down).
She seems to think that the beautiful property is all that they need to provide, or that somehow being a music venue relieves them of any wedding related responsibility. If they are going to continue to host weddings, they need to seriously get their shit together and operate as a venue.
At the end of the day, our wedding was absolutely beautiful, our guests had a great time, and we have amazing memories of the day. But in an industry where there is so much competition for bride's business, an insane amount of money being spent, and high stakes, my experience working with Planet Bluegrass left me extremely uncomfortable.
Planet Bluegrass is absolutely beautiful. My fiance and I were ready to book it after we popped by unannounced to take a look. We immediately emailed Julie for info. She sent back ...
a very curt note - 'here's the info. if you want to talk, call me.' We immediately wrote back to schedule an appointment, then followed up with a call a day later, and another email a few days after that. She never bothered to respond. It was incredibly rude and only reinforced the experience that other brides shared from this summer's weddings. Planet Bluegrass should replace her immediately with someone who's responsive and considerate. Cost aside, it's just good business and good manners. They lost out on a wedding because of her inaction, and I'm sure we're not alone.
Planet Bluegrass is such a beautiful venue--we loved it, our guests loved it. BUT, the planning process was a nightmare as was day of. Julie, the wedding coordinator, was very unpr...
ofessional and hard to handle. We booked our wedding over a year out and she never once made us feel as though we were being accommodated. You have to get your liquor thru them, and the steep price only includes the venue. You have no other amenities. I was also told that all of my decor was fine to be set up only to find out that day of PB people decided it was not ok. Julie yelled at my mom following the wedding because she was unhappy with our coordinator and caterer. She also confused our check early on and attempted to say that we hadn't paid. Overall, it was a stressful experience. Definitely beautiful but be prepared to handle difficult people all around.
Unfortunetly, Planet Blue Grass was not the ideal wedding venue. It is a steep price $6500 that includes nothing at all, not even a sound system, as they charge for every addition...
thing. Yes, it is a magnificent setting and apparently that is all they feel they need to provide.
The event coordinator is unavailable, rude and unpredictable and you cannot have a rehearsal there because that is not included in the price. The property may or may not be clean and in good condition when you arrive. Be prepared to have the grounds keeper, whom I thought was a homeless man, creeping around the night of your wedding .
They handle the liquor so be sure they do not try and over sell you on that because you keep whatever is left.
The bride's cabin is adequate, the groom get to use one of there offices with a few office chairs to sit on. They rush you out at the end of the night so be prepared to have your cars ready and have everything thrown in so the caterer can make PBG's cut off time.
If you want a magnificent property with a lot of headaches- this is the place for you. Also, hope for good weather because the bathrooms are a hike from the barn.
We had an absolutely beautiful fall wedding at Planet Bluegrass. The location is perfect- right on the St. Vrain river and surrounded by mountains. I would definitely recommend P...
lanet Bluegrass for an outdoor Colorado wedding!
Planet Bluegrass was an absolute dream location. I heard about it last year, when my brother went to wedding there and suggested I check it out. I emailed the events coordinator, ...
Julie and she emailed me right back and we set a time to see the place right before Christmas. Julie met us at Planet Bluegrass and was super knowledgeable about the wedding protocol. We loved the layout of the place, but it was hard to imagine what it would look like in the summer. So we looked at photos online and decided to go for it.
A great decision. For our wedding on Labor Day weekend the grass was green, the landscaping was clean, the river was flowing and the green rocks were a gorgeous backdrop for our photos. It was truly magical. A slice of "Colorado" . Our guests couldn't stop talking about how beautiful it was.
Julie, the Planet Bluegrass coordinator, was very helpful throughout the whole process. She returned emails and calls promptly, helped us plane logistics of sound and lighting, and put us in contact with some other fabulous vendors who really understood the space.
Planet Bluegrass has been hit hard by the recent Colorado flooding. But I they are rebuilding the property for a full 2014 season and many of the signature features are still in tact. I'm sure they will make every effort to bring it back with great care and I'm sure it will be a magical place for many, many future brides.
