First off, the most important thing you can do when choosing a photographer is to meet them in person. If your personalities don't click then you won't get the best pictures.
My husband and I met with Sheila at a bakery, looked at her picture...s, but mostly just talked. We talked about the wedding and just stupid funny stories. After about 30-40min we looked at each other and were like, yeah this is so on, let's sign a contract.
We arranged to do an engagement photoshoot in pioneer square, she met us there, walked around to different places and really let us play around and have fun with our pictures. Not all 100% seriousness.
We met up with her a couple times before the wedding to look at the engagement photos and then again when were were getting and enlarged photo from her. She made herself avaialble so we were able to build a relationship.
The day of what so much fun. She knew us well by then so had no problem directing us to do things and we were all game for anything. When we got our photos back there were a bunch where I was like, when did she do that? I had thought we missed out on shots of the rings and just detail stuff but she was on it. Her and her assistant took pictures of details and other goings on before we "started" pictures. The group shots were great and I just love and cherish the candids and pictures of us with our grandparents. I hope I have a need for a photographer again becuase I need to work with her again.
