It didn’t take long to understand why so many people recommend them. Throughout the planning process, they were always quick to respond and made everything feel seamless. After booking the DJ services, I also added their photo booth and cold spark package. The process was extremely easy, and their online portal made planning and submitting information simple and stress free. Honestly, I was recommending them to other couples before my wedding had even happened because of how great the experience was. By the time wedding day arrived, I had zero worries. I knew everything would be handled professionally, and DJ Trevin absolutely delivered. He kept the entire event moving smoothly, managed the timeline flawlessly, and made sure everything stayed on track. I never had to worry about what was happening next because I knew it was in good hands. Most importantly, he kept people on the dance floor all night with a great mix of music that appealed to everyone. The photo booth was a huge hit with guests, and the cold sparks added such a fun and memorable touch to the evening. Unfortunately, things started to go downhill about a month before the wedding. I had to reach out multiple times just to find out who our DJ would be. We finally had our planning call less than a week before the wedding with Chip. During the call, he complimented the playlist I had spent months creating, so I left feeling confident. Then, just four days before our wedding, Stacy called to review final details and informed me we'd owe over $200 in additional fees for pre-ceremony music and a third setup because our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception were in different spaces. My issue wasn't the fees themselves, it was that none of these details had changed since we booked over a year earlier. Everything had already been discussed, entered into our planning portal, and paid in full weeks before. Finding out about extra charges four days before the wedding was frustrating and avoidable. On the wedding day, Chip seemed unorganized during our introductions. He announced part of our bridal party entrances incorrectly despite reviewing them beforehand. He then unexpectedly handed my husband and me a microphone to pick a winner for the entrances which was something we had never discussed. You can actually see me shaking my head "no" in our wedding video because we had no idea what was happening. After dinner, they played only a couple songs from our playlist before going completely off script. They played several songs we never requested that honestly felt inappropriate for a wedding, and the dance floor emptied. Guests even asked if I had picked the music because it seemed so out of place. My husband asked Chip to stick to our playlist, but they continued with their own choices. After I asked a second time, Chip seemed annoyed but finally told his DJ to follow our playlist. As soon as they did, the dance floor filled up and stayed full the rest of the night. We just shouldn't have had to ask multiple times for them to play the music we had already planned. After the wedding, Stacy called to follow up. I appreciated the call, and she apologized, saying this wasn't how they train their staff. She also said they'd be "sending us something in the mail" to make up for our experience. Over a month later, we've received nothing. Chip also texted my husband afterward saying he "had to work a little to get everyone on the dance floor," which wasn't accurate. The dance floor only emptied while they were playing songs we never requested. He also offered to send us videos he had taken that night, but over a month later we still haven't received those either. What surprises me most is that Soundwaves has hundreds of five-star reviews, which is exactly why we booked them. Maybe our experience was the exception, but it was disappointing enough that I felt it was worth sharing. We only booked DJ services and I can't help but wonder if that affected the level of attention our wedding received. This isn't a one-star review because there were positives. I just wish we hadn't had to spend part of our wedding night asking them to do what we'd already planned together.

ggestions on timing were so helpful! He checked in with us throughout the night, kept us on track when he noticed us lagging, and tracked us down to okay any song requests not on our playlists. Before our entrances, he noticed us practicing our first dance and put on our song to help us - 10/10.

I danced the whole night away with my family and would absolutely recommend working with them again! We got many compliments from our guests about Soundwaves and how great their selection was for ALL aged guests at our event (from 2 to 92), not to mention that we were an LGBT couple and felt completely comfortable with them too! 10/10 recommend.

Everything was so EASY to navigate. The amount of detailed questions they ask to make sure every second of my special day was covered was amazing! When it came down to my wedding day, they made it one to never forget. DJ’s in my opinion basically run the show and that’s exactly what they did! The music was so clear and sounded beautiful walking down the aisle. When it came time to the reception, Jim was AMAZING at accepting minor changes to timing of everything. Was the nicest person ever. But the best part of it all was the dancing. The transitions, the in between song choices of my choosing and his own were so on point. I couldn’t count how many people complimented that I picked the best DJ. Jim and Freddy were so quick to take song requests too. If I could give them 100 stars I would. SOOO happy to have gone with them.

To me, that is above and beyond the call of a DJ! He kept all of our guests and us entertained and on the dance floor all night. He played all of our favorites and remixed them into fun dance songs attempting to fit my hundreds of songs into a few hours of music. We had a full dance floor all night!!! Honestly, we couldn’t have had a better experience and truly recommend DJ Jacob and Soundwaves to anyone that is looking for a DJ. If you want a great dj, a full dance floor, and happy people from all ages—I highly recommend Jacob! Soundwaves also offers a great printed photo strip and memory book as an add on! hey were extremely attentive throughout the planning process with reminder emails, an organized website/ portal with forms to fill out plus a section to add our favorite songs, and phone calls in the weeks/days leading up to our big day. Stacy was great with answering questions and following up with phone calls to ensure we felt comfortable and confident with the plan! Even during the wedding, I was so amazed how Jim would check in with us often, make sure we were happy and even offered to get us drinks from the bar during dinner if we needed it! He ensured everyone’s names were listed and pronounced correctly during grand entrances. And on top of that, the music was the PERFECT combination of oldies, newbies, and everything in between that kept 99% of our guests on the dance floor ALL NIGHT LONG! I’ve been to at least 7 weddings where they were the DJ and they kept everyone on the dance floor the whole time. Not only are they great to work with and made the wedding process a breeze, but they also are so personable outside of your own event. Jim has recognized me and said hi to me every time I’d see him. Such an awesome business! I recommend them to all my friends and will be using them for any DJ needs in the future!

Jacob was again amazing at our wedding and really was the master of timing and ran the event so smoothly. He often checked in with us during transitions and consistently kept us up to date with things happening. He is incredibly personal and dedicated to making your day go perfectly, and does small but meaningful things like getting us drinks at dinner. Planning was easy, the portal is straightforward. It was affordable for all we wanted and it was easy to communicate and get in touch with anyone there. Photobooth options are immense and fully customizable, which we really loved!

to review all the information with you and give you recommendations based on their past experience at weddings and are super responsive to text and emails. They played all the songs we requested for the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception. They were able to do a mix of classic songs for the 1st half of the reception and a club mix style for the 2nd half. This made everyone happy with older guest in the beginning and the dance floor staying packed with young folks later in the evening. They also coordinate all the events we wanted during the reception: garter, bouquet toss, money dance, and private last dance. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a DJ for their wedding.
