The Lodge at Mound Creek

The venue is beautiful, but PLEASE steer clear of Elizabeth Mize with EM Events and Chef Michael with Chef Michael’s gourmet catering. Our experience with them was truly God awful. Elizabeth is the worst coordinator you could ever have; uncaring and unprofessional, Chef Michael is a thief who stole our money and the food after our wedding. The venue will unfortunately allow these two vendors to take advantage of you, and continue endorsing them to clients. I’m so disappointed in how everything was handled.

Searching for the venue for your special day can EASILY be the most stressful part of planning the entire wedding. For us, it totally was until we found the Lodge at Mound Creek (The Lodge). My then fiancée and I chose to go with a renaissance themed wedding and struggled to find something that would fit that aesthetic, but when found The Lodge, we knew it was perfect. The venue has this beautifully rustic atmosphere that in no way lacks being able to deliver gorgeous lighting and audio for music and speeches. It was such a delight to walk in to the venue for the first time and see all of our decorations in place. Everything was so tasteful and elegant, and all of it was elevated by the lovely wooden walls and ceiling. There are two dressing rooms, one for the men and one for women. The men's is quite simple, a small room, but enough to do the job. The women's however is lovely, walking into it, you'd think it's a full on boutique, and I'm so glad that my bride was able to get ready in such a great space. The ceremonial area was one of the highlights for me, it's still on the same property but one would be forgiven for walking past it and not even know it was there. It has this magical 'hidden away' feeling to it. The lush greenery that surround the little path that leads you to the area is just so special. And as Bride and Groom you get to walk through arches of leaves and its just so beautiful. It was such a memorable spot. P.S. There is a little rooster that can be heard in the distance, and it was really cute. The owners of the venue were so very sweet, and helped us to wrap our heads around all the technical stuff, and as changes happened during planning (which they will) they were more than accommodating to said changes. They have packages that can be purchased and took a lot of weight off of our shoulders and made our lives so much easier. Last note, the staff operating the bar as well as security were so much fun! They even joined in dancing during the reception which means they're basically apart of the family now. We highly recommend The Lodge if you are looking for just a gorgeous venue that needs minimal decorations to be absolutely stunning, with a great staff, and even greater vibes!

We loved our wedding day at the Lodge, and I wanted to think about the day and the overall service before I wrote a review. Our wedding had no issues that halted or hindered our day, and our day of coordinator was terrific. The vendors were prompt and professional. The indoor site and balcony were great, and they worked with me to have tables and chairs utilized the way I needed and wanted. The outdoor ceremony site is very nice, though the vines on the arch were dead due to it being winter, and it was not cleaned enough in my opinion. What caused me any stress at all was trying to communicate to the venue about various things, and some things were lacking. For example, I know we asked that there be a white cloth draped on our arbor decor, and on the day of, there wasn't one. There was difficulty contacting the venue during the planning process. If we needed to make changes or get information overall. I often had to ask about several smaller details that could have been discussed during our few meetings, if there had been forethought to make note. Brides are typically first-time brides, and it would be helpful to have everything from furniture to coffee cups listed for discussion. I often found things I needed to purchase/figure out too close to the wedding, but just in time because I was going over this wedding as best I could. Overall, we loved having our big day at the Lodge, and they gave me the freedom to decorate and have fun without a theme, and for that and the great service, we are grateful. My advice is to make sure you consider every little thing that entails a wedding and make sure you discuss it with the Lodge.

The Lodge was such a beautiful venue - the people were great, so many great amenities, and communication and appointments were always easily accessible! The venue is a hidden gem!! It has such natural beauty - so many guests commented on the details & layout! I’m so grateful for this place & everyone involved in our wedding day! I highly recommend the Lodge, it allowed for a stress free beautiful day💓
