ng! Donald met with me multiple times to go over what we wanted for our wedding as far as food, setup, drinks, and timeline. They are very responsive, accommodating, and flexible. They handled everything perfectly after giving them my vision. The food was AMAZING! We loved how fun and unique the cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres were and they were so delicious! The desserts were also amazing and set up so nicely! Our guests raved about the food to us! I would highly recommend hiring Conner Catering to cater your wedding! Especially at The Old Mill, Rose Valley!

reparations leading up to the wedding were a bit confusing - we were contacting several different people and weren’t sure what the status of things were at times, but they were extremely busy due to all the postponed and regularly scheduled weddings. Don helped us coordinate the drop-off of all our items about a week before the wedding, which was so easy and smooth. The service on the night of our wedding was nothing short of incredible. Special shout-out to Christine, who made sure me and my husband were well cared-for and always had what we needed. I was BEYOND IMPRESSED with the staff at the Old Mill. The food was also amazing - we got so many compliments, and they keep coming! Everyone remarked that it was the best wedding food they’d ever had. Cleanup/breakdown was also really easy. I highly recommend The Old Mill :-)

They were always making sure my husband and I got to try the food, and had water, which was such a blessing as it was very hot out. And OH MY GOODNESS the food was AMAZING. We had so many guests tell us it was the best wedding food they have every had. We also loved doing the family style serving so everyone could try all of the food, and that everything was so customizable. My husband and I love pizza, and we were able to have it as part of our appetizers at cocktail hour. We also did not want wedding cake as our desert, so we were able to have an ice cream station instead which was one of the highlights of the night! Cannot recommend them enough, not only will you have great service and food, but the venue is also stunning. Our pictures turned out amazing. It was the most perfect wedding day thanks to Don and his staff.

Don met with us whenever we asked and answered any/ all of our emails/ questions whenever we had them. The day could not have gone smoother, service was incredible. ALSO LETS TALK ABOUT THE FOOD. Best food ever. Also there is a lot of it, they even asked guests if they wanted seconds at dinner! We also had many family members with allergies/ dietary restrictions and they were given an entire meal that accommodated their needs. One of my gluten free family members told me that he has never eaten so much at a wedding, and that it was amazing. We are so sad how quickly our day went because we had such an amazing time, highly recommend!

Don reassured us many times leading up to the day that everything would work out, and that is in no small part because of Christine! You are a godsend, without you that day I wouldn't have known my left from my right. You took great care of my mother and father that day as well. I am eternally grateful for you. If you have the slightest reservation about booking with The Old Mill, let it go. This place will knock your socks off with service and the FOOD, OMG the FOOD, your guest will talk about it for years to come. As a gay couple at times during this process of getting married you take disrespect and sometimes even flat out doors being slammed in your face...That did NOT happen here, not once, not even a hint of awkwardness. They were beyond accommodating, welcoming and everyone had a friendly smile even through a mask. Thank you again to the crew at the Old Mill!

Don was really flexible and helpful when it came to the ongoing changes of Covid restrictions, we met 3+ times due to the changing restrictions and Don did not bat an eye, and kept us personally up to date and gave advice along the way. We also had the coldest weekend in May, which also caused more logistical changes the day before, and again, Don gave his opinion, but also supported our decisions and helped with last minute changes and logistical updates, keeping us at ease with the insane weather! My wedding day was truly the best day of my life, due in part to Don and his awesome staff. Every guest we spoke to said it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding, and noted the upbeat personalities and constant high level of service through out the night as well, in addition to the gorgeous venue and grounds. I would recommend The Old Mill to anyone looking! Thank you again!

Don and his team were able to make everything work and as things got closer we had to move things outside and only have 25 people inside when the reception was supposed to be all inside. He ordered tents to put up outside and was able to make so many requests work such as the courtyard free for dancing. Unfortunately there were added costs. We had no idea we were going to be charged for the tent because we needed to move everything outside last minute and the cost was going to have a huge impact on our budget. We were not notified we were supposed to pay and thought they were paying for it. We had a tent we could have used but it was not well communicated to us until we received a bill two weeks before the wedding because these changes were so last minute. Thankfully Don handled the situation Kindly and we were able to move forward. Communication and understanding was a huge issue. We were told we would have to pay extra to be under 100 guests and we had counted that towards our budget, an extra $1500. All the notes for costs are handwritten and nothing concrete that we could fight when at the final week were charged an extra $30 per person for meals from our original $102.50 charge agreed upon. It was never advertised we would be charged so much more, especially last minute. This was before the 18% gratuity charge ad 6 % taxes extra on top of everything we also had budgeted for. We trusted his word and what he had written, but because we had no contract for these prices he was able to charge us whatever he decided in the end. We could have understood some extra fees with Covid, but not an extra $30 per person for food that we had not agreed to pay. Overall we had to pay $3000 instead of $1500 that we had agreed on. If we also had to pay for the tent it would have been $2700 extra for everything that we hadn't agreed to pay. We truly recommend this place, but only if you can get the invoiced contract in writing and I am not sure they will do that. We tried to get written prices, but even those were not entirely accurate it seems. It was a terrible situation and if our parents hadn't been so understanding we would have lost all our money invested and no wedding the week before the wedding. The day of Don and his team were impeccable with making everything work and any issues that arose. They also were incredible with following state guidelines, but never letting it negatively impact the wedding. Masks and social distancing outside, grouping of households at tables, and minimum 25 people inside. Most stayed outside because of the beautiful night. We had our dream wedding. it was everything we could have asked for and more. We would consider renewing our vows there as long as we could get costs in writing. The courtyard is a dream, like stepping through to a place of magic. The lodge and inside is rustic and matched our modern viking themed wedding perfectly! We look back on the day with no regrets and complete awe at how fortunate we were to have such a great team willing to put aside any issues and make it incredible for us and our entire family. I close my eyes and I still feel myself there, spinning around the dance floor with my husband!

Very sad that this is being launched against a caterer and venue that is incredible and simply wouldn't break the law for an event. Following the Governor's Executive Orders and acting responsible during a pandemic is what happened here. That's the bottom line.

lan for inclement weather (the pavilion is GORGEOUS!). The food is just AMAZING -- I am vegan but my husband is not, so we had a mixture. Vegans and non vegans alike said all of the food was amazing! They even had vegan snacks waiting for me in the bridal suite. They definitely make their couples feel special!! The service staff was incredibly friendly and professional! They allow you to supply your own alcohol which helps you save some money too! We communicated mostly with Donald and Taylor. Donald is very detail-oriented and efficient - he made sure everything went smoothly and was great about talking through our options when we had to rework our original 130-guest wedding plan due to the pandemic. Taylor is super responsive and friendly -- I emailed her millions of questions and she was always so great and informative in her responses! Conner Catering put extensive care and effort into making our event safe amidst the pandemic. Our event was held completely outdoors aside from the restrooms (guests had to wear face coverings to go inside for the bathroom), masks and hand sanitizer were stationed throughout, and ceremony and reception seating was spaced at least 6 feet apart. We reduced our guest count to less than 50 people, and Conner was so flexible with all of our changes. I would not change a thing about our wedding experience, and we are so grateful to Conner Catering and the Old Mill for making our day so special! P.S. I see a lot of recent negative reviews due to COVID. I don't mean to discredit them because I obviously cannot attest to other couples' experiences, but ours was excellent. We were aware of the noise restrictions before we signed our contract (it's in the FAQ document Conner Catering provides as well), so when we moved our wedding outside, we knew that would mean no more dancing -- which is not something that bothered us given the pandemic so we were prepared to give that up, and had such a fun reception anyway (they also did allow us to do our first dance and father-bride / mother-groom dances!). I do think the neighbors are out of hand and behave disrespectfully (I'm not sure why they chose to live next to a wedding venue?), but I think Conner Catering does all they can to manage it. We did not see the neighbors at all on our day (although they did have a rude banner hung up on their property about closing the Old Mill). I would still highly recommend the Old Mill, as long as you're okay with the outdoor noise restrictions. It was more than worth it for us!

day of the wedding. Donald Conner lied to us about allowing music and dancing in the pavilion. Our guest could not hear the music and Donald closed two of our three bars because our guests wanted to dance in the courtyard. The noise and music issues he has with the neighbors is not resolved; he lied to us again and said everything would be ok. He told us we could have outdoor music and dancing but would not allow it when our guests were ready to dance and enjoy themselves after dinner. He was rude and very difficult to work with. He made our guests very uncomfortable. Please read the recent reviews about his behavior, the bad reviews are there. He ruined our wedding and we will never forget the chaos and stress he caused all of us.

After multiple meetings and planning and replanning to accommodate for Covid changes, Donald decided to change what he wanted DURING THE WEDDING with no consulting the bride, groom, or parents. He sulked around the even glaring at people and making comments as he pleased. He only cares about himself and wants to be the star of the show even if it means being the villain. No music outside, got rid of two bars in the middle of the event even though they were already paid for, didn’t serve food that was paid for, told guests they were “rude” to their face, topped off areas for no reason.... who runs a business and acts like that!? Unreal. If he didn’t want to host an event because of Covid (understandable) then reschedule the event, but don’t over promise to your customers and pull the rug out from under them. He is bitter and rude and should not be in a customer service focused business. Don’t have your wedding here if you want the staff to care about you or your special day.

His waiting staff is great - specifically Ralph (he’s awesome), food is great but during our big day the most noticeable person was Donald, and for all of the wrong reasons. He wants to be seen, he wants to be noticed and if something isn’t going his way (notice I didn’t say the bride or groom’s way) he will make a drastic decision and then lie about why it had to be done afterwards. All potential brides and grooms looking at the Old Mill, please READ THIS - His surrounding neighbors HATE him and they have caused scenes historically and WILL make police circle your wedding making it extremely uncomfortable, they will even take walks by the venue during your day and Donald can’t stop them because they technically live there too. If you want music during your ceremony, or all of your guests to hear your officiant and vows or nice cocktail hour music..nope, he won’t allow it (or he will but it will be so embarrassingly light just to check off the box for you) because if it’s too loud his neighbors will complain and he is more worried about that then making sure your day is perfect. Your day should be stress-free, only worrying about having the best time of your life with the closest people that love you the most..having your wedding here takes away a lot of those moments and will have you constantly making sure things are going as planned until you leave, and it’s just not worth it. Enjoy your day with a different venue that will help develop your dream completely.

ur wedding due to the fact he had to rent a SMALL tent to meet COVID guidelines, (something that was totally out of our control and not suggested by us). He refused to box up meals we paid for but did not use, and he had his staff cut post-it size pieces of our HUGE wedding cake. He told his staff he did not care about our wedding because he wasn’t profiting, which showed in his actions, and his security guard repeated at the bar to our best man, where a few of our guests also overheard the comment. Donald did not have the decency to call us the next day and apologize for or acknowledge his awful attitude/actions. I would not recommend this venue to any couple looking to have a perfect wedding day. It seems like Donald is either too overwhelmed with what he does and needs to hire someone to replace him, or he just simply was not interesting in working with a bi-racial couple.

People were RAVING to us about the food and the venue and how beautiful everything was. Not only that but everything was PERFECTLY on time. We had so much time to dance and have fun :). I am so thankful we chose Conner Catering and The Old Mill for our wedding day. We will never forget this day or Don and his team.

Being faced with making a decision weeks in advance of that, we felt it best to cancel as we wanted to protect our family and friends and the Old Mill had limited dates available (unless we wanted to postpone for a significant amount of time) and we had selected this venue specifically for the outdoor spaces at this time of year. Through that decision, regardless of pre-covid contracts, we had hoped that businesses would be reasonable in their approach to working with people who were already faced with such upsetting circumstances. All other vendors we had contracted with for our original date were flexible and accommodating in providing refunds, particularly if they could not offer us future options that met the expectations we had originally agreed upon. It is disappointing to be in the scenario in which the Old Mill refuses a refund of our original deposits. With the state just going green on our original wedding day, we would have had no access to fittings for our wedding day attire, vendors who were unsure of their ability to offer their continued services based on the circumstances, and many other services that we had planned to use to create the day we had always dreamed of. Regardless of their willingness to offer virtual meetings, a wedding takes much more than just the assistance of the venue to pull off. We are all managing unprecedented circumstances, things not covered by contracts and in an emotionally driven industry; to selectively make changes to parts of the contract to accommodate rescheduling, but not have the willingness to refund a deposit is representative to us of a business’s core values. While we all are struggling financially and experiencing hardship like never before, this is an unfortunate stance to take and we caution others planning to hold their event at the Old Mill for their future big day until things return to “normal.” Given the significant increase in numbers over the week since going green, we are, ultimately, glad with the decision we made to protect our loved ones.

After we booked, Taylor and Don were great with details and giving us suggestions. Without their expertise, the wedding would not have gone as well as it did. The day of the wedding, things got a little messed up because 95 was shut down-- delaying the wedding party 1.5 hours. Don was very flexible and made sure everything was okay to extend an hour. The food was AMAZING. We received so many compliments about the food. During the process, we were worried about staying under budget for food, but still having a tasty meal. Don was very aware of our budget and made sure we got the best possible meal. Everything is very customizable, so you do not sacrifice quality at all. Without a doubt, this was the best choice we made and are so grateful to Conner Catering! Amazing food and an amazing team!

Then meeting Don, his wife, and daughter (family owned makes a WORLD of difference!!) was delightful. Don is super down-to-earth and honest (which is super helpful in decision-making). He isn't pushy in the least and made sure to explain everything to us. Don answered any question I had and was extremely responsive to me! They are a family dream squad!! At first, I was nervous that they were the only caterer at the venue. Then, Don invited us to a wedding expo where they were sampling their appetizers and we were so happy that they were our only choice because it was hands down the most delicious food we've ever had. Even the way that the food is displayed is super beautiful and impressive. My guests are STILL talking about the cocktail hour and dinner and how delicious it was. They were even flexible with my high-maintenance Aunt, but made sure to only contact ME with any questions that guests had (which I loved!). I could go on for hours about how happy we were with everything about The Old Mill. If you want a unique space, with delicious food and a down-to-earth staff, this venue is definitely for you!

Also, all of the food was so tasty! One of the staff managers, Lena, personally brought us a sampler of all of our appetizers during cocktail hour because she knew the bride and groom don't really get to eat - it was so thoughtful!

When we told him how far we had commuted from he rolled his eyes and questioned why we would come this far for a venue. He was very vague about food pricing and would not give any range or estimate for how much specific meals would cost. We were very excited to visit this venue and it was on the top of our list, we were very disappointed with how unprofessional they were. In hindsight, seeing this prior to booking a wedding was helpful as I can only imagine we would have encountered more issues closer to the wedding date.

We meet with Donald and saw it in person and became even more in love with the space. Donald has a very sarcastic and playful personality but once you begin to understand him and work with him and his daughter Taylor you will realize your in good hands. I honestly was nervous about how everything was going to come together in the weeks leading up, but Taylor was a DREAM to work with and helped me with changes we made along the way whether it was upgrading the chairs, or changing the layout of the reception she was more than willing to accommodate. The day of the wedding was EVERYTHING and more – the staff and team behind this venue were 100% class and took such great care of us. I had so many guests tell us how amazing the staff was, and we couldn’t agree more. After our ceremony, my husband and I went to the bridal suite to just gather our thoughts and they brought us back one of every appetizer to eat alone before we welcomed our guests. The food was 10/10 and the timeline of our wedding went completely perfect thanks to the guidance of Donald. You will NOT regret choosing this space to celebrate your marriage it is beautiful in every way!

Conner Catering is tough to get a hold of well in advance of your wedding; however, they do become significantly more accessible as you get closer to your date. Regarding pricing, we found their food prices to be reasonable. The initial costs and estimates verbally quoted to us (they didn't have any prices in writing or contract) did increase in the year between when we booked the venue and we chose our menu with Donald. If you are booking this venue, I recommend adding 5-10% more to your food budget to be safe. Additionally, there can be a couple extra fees, like the $300 "Lighting" fee to turn on the outdoor lights and have basic uplights in the reception hall. Overall, I would definitely recommend this venue and Conner Catering. They do superb work and it is a beautiful location.

The venue is reasonably priced for such a beautiful space and there are an abundant amount of ways to customize the different areas to make it your own (if you are DIY type of bride). We were lucky enough to have a beautiful spring day and the magnolia tree blooming in the marrying meadow, but in case you do not have good weather, their rainy day options are equally as beautiful. Conner Catering really made our dream wedding a reality.

Donald, while very straight forward, is extremely knowledgeable and good at his job. From the first meeting until the final dance, the planning process was seamless and my husband and I had the best day ever. Our friends and family had nothing but good things to say about the food. For any potential brides and grooms, you will learn quickly that food and beverage account for most of your costs. Donald and his team delivered an A+ meal, and service. Donald even made a last minute adjustment to our menu because he felt the quality of tomatoes would not be good enough. As a BYO Donald guided us in amounts of alcohol to buy and choices. Donald and his team really made being a bride easy. The grounds are gorgeous, and while we skipped some photo op’s because of a recent snow (a few actually), the pictures we did get are beautiful. My husband and I had the best day ever, and we are sad it’s over, but have the memories to cherish forever. Kudos to Donald & Taylor!

Whenever we talked to him, I felt assured that were going to have a great wedding. The day before our wedding, the weather was not looking great and we wanted to have the ceremony in the meadows. Donald did an amazing job calming both of us down (mostly me) and showing us the other options we had. The next morning the weather forecast changed and Donald called me first thing to talk about potentially moving the ceremony outdoors. He assured us that we could make a last minute decision if need be. Fast forward to the time of our wedding. Everyone that we worked with was so professional and friendly. Lena was so helpful during the whole process. My husband and I are gluten free due to allergies and she made sure everything we were eating were specially made for us. Our guests are still telling us how much they enjoyed the food. We literally do not have a bad thing to say about Conner Catering or the venue itself. It was everything and more than we could ever ask for. I would recommend this venue and Conner Catering over and over again. Thank you so much for making our special day perfect.

Don gave us our tour and he was friendly, funny and provided an all around great experience while we were there. All Don had to do was give us a friendly wave and say he was finishing up and we would've stuck around. He was too busy "closing the deal" to give us the time of day. We were so frustrated that we walked out. My fiancé gave a (sarcastic) "thanks for your time" as we left and I think he managed to mumble an "ok, thanks." No "I'm sorry to keep you waiting," "I'm almost done, please just give me a few more minutes." Nothing! A wedding is a big financial investment. We're not asking you to roll out the red carpet for a venue tour, but if you're rude from the moment we step on your property, I can only imagine what it's like to plan and event with you. No thanks. Save your time, brides- and grooms-to-be. Taylor and Don Conner were the main points of contact and they were both a pleasure to work with. We received many compliments from guests on the venue and the food! Some of the other reviews mention that it was hard to reach them when initially scheduling a visit to the venue, which was true to a degree. However, don't let this hold you back because once the wedding was booked they always responded promptly and were very friendly. I would recommend this venue and caterer without hesitation!

Then we waited for over 20 minutes and he never came out to say anything. Now don't get me wrong, the outside is very cool and rustic, which is what we're going for. However, the inside was less impressive. It was very dark and the bathrooms were really old and outdated. There is also a stage at one end of the ballroom that reminded me of a church all purpose hall. Beyond the lackluster inside, we were so turned off by his attitude and lack of apology for keeping us waiting, we decided it leave. When we went to politely tell him we were going to leave, all he said was 'OK,' and acted as though he didn't care at all. We were so disappointed by our experience because the Old Mill was at the top of our list....
