About this vendor
The Patrick Henry Ballroom is a historic venue hosting weddings in Roanoke, VI. The property is supported by dedicated staff and features a host of modern facilities. Couples are invited to celebrate in classical style at this beautifully preserved gem of the city’s downtown district.
The Patrick Henry Ballroom is a landmark of Roanoke and was founded in the mid-1920s. The original hotel’s iconic red-brick facade has towered over Jefferson Street for decades, lending a distinct character to the street front. Inside, guests are transported back in time to a scene of unparalleled elegance and sophistication. The ballroom’s owners are immensely proud of its heritage, as evinced by the respectful manner in which its interior has been preserved. Couples are welcomed to the property by the Promenade, an open-plan lobby with stylish Art-Deco accents. Chic and filled with natural light, it is a popular setting for wedding photoshoots. The Grand Ballroom is truly the crowning jewel of the venue and is available for decadent reception and ceremonies. Decorated in the European-inspired colonial revivalist style, it features delicate plasterwork with intricate cornices and arches that frame wide window fixtures. Couples can exchange vows before its grand fireplace with ornate crystal chandeliers reflected in the large mirror perched on the mantle. For smaller parties, the intimate confines of the Clubhouse offer a stylish, more laid-back setting in which to celebrate.
Whichever space couples choose, the Patrick Henry Ballroom’s staff is delighted to welcome parties to the venue. They can provide support including furniture rentals, audiovisual equipment, setup and cleanup assistance, and access to a catering kitchen. Parties of all sizes are welcome to the property, from gatherings of 75 to grand gala celebrations of 375 guests. The happy couple can retire at night’s end to the Governor's Suite, a luxury apartment adjoining the venue. Well-appointed and featuring stunning views of the surrounding mountains, it can also host small parties of close friends and family. No matter what the scale of your celebration, the property, and its attentive staff will help make it an unforgettable event.

Seth was extremely organized, professional, and efficient! So responsive and made my vision become a reality! The ballroom is beautiful!
I am so glad that I ended up choosing the Patrick Henry as my venue for both my ceremony and reception. The location downtown is convenient and easy to find for guests. Seth and hi...
s team are amazing- always accommodating with whatever I needed. The Bridal Suite is so convenient- directly across the hall from the ballroom. It was completely stress free for us to get ready together and be .5 seconds away from everything else. That takes away the stress of having to pack bags and get everything to the place it needs to be- which is amazing.
Cannot stress enough how amazing this venue is!
Beautiful venue. Very accommodating. Seth was awesome to work with and very helpful!
Beautiful! Professional! Helpful! Affordable! The best place to have a wedding ceremony and reception!
The Patrick Henry Ballroom is gorgeous! We got married on June 23, 2018 and it could not have been a more beautiful venue! The Patrick Henry Ballroom is literally breathtaking! Aft...
er visiting a few other venues, we toured the Patrick Henry Ballroom and our decision was immediately made. From the large ballroom with the original 1925 chandelier and the beautiful wall sconces with a touch of sapphire blue, and the large, gorgeous fireplace, and the amazing windows to the nice and open promenade and amazing governor suite, the Patrick Henry Ballroom is a must see venue! We had our ceremony and the reception there which was so nice not to have to worry about guests switching venues. The ceremony took place in the ballroom and then guests had cocktail hour in the promenade while we took pictures and the staff could flip the room for the reception. The staff flipped the room very quickly an it was so nice for the guests to see a transformation of the room they were in earlier. The manager, Seth is amazing to work with. Seth is on top of his game and is quick with responding and very informative and extremely sweet! You can tell that he truly cares about your big day, which is so important to have that with choosing your venue! The venue is breathtaking and if you are looking for a ballroom in Roanoke-look no further! Choosing the Patrick Henry Ballroom for our venue was one of the easiest decisions we made during wedding planning!

n AZ and were getting married in Roanoke, VA so we really needed somewhere that could do the ceremony and reception in the same place. This place is truly a one stop shop. The Patrick Henry is very affordable and allows the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception to be all in one place. These guys are absolute pros at switching the room over from ceremony to reception. The room's atmosphere was able to completely change from one setting to the other and simultaneously be absolutely gorgeous. The Promenade was beautiful for cocktail hour as well. Planning a wedding from a distance is difficult. The simple beauty the ballroom holds on its own allowed me to not have to worry about adding a ton of decor because its historical beauty alone is enough. There is also the Governor's Suite which is where I was able to get ready with all of my bridesmaids. We reserved the room for the night before and the night of the wedding. This was the best decision ever. This made getting ready and cleaning up a breeze. This room turned into a haven for both of our families and the entire wedding party. I can't say enough about the convenience and practicality of that suite. Also, Set the property manager and event coordinator was amazing. He was so helpful and accommodating with my weird schedule. Anytime I popped in town he was always able to make time for me. They can also get linens for you to rent at their discounted price which is awesome. And they have a full kitchen which makes everything a breeze for the caterers. This place was unbelievable not just for its beauty but for how many things it has to offer. Especially for a destination wedding like ours. I love The Patrick Henry and will forever love our day there.
I can't say enough about the Patrick Henry. The space is beautiful and everyone there was so helpful! I also felt like (and the vendors said) there was enough room in the backgroun...
d for them to work comfortably! Loved it, can't recommend it enough!
We had the most absolutely perfect wedding experience with The Patrick Henry Ballroom and Seth in October 2016. He was so flexible, worked well with us and our planner, especially ...
since we were out of town guests. We were able to use their full size gourmet kitchen, which made our life and caterers easier! Having access to the bridal suite the day before, of, and during the reception was absolutely priceless! Our guests had free (and safe) parking for the night. I would pick The Patrick Henry hands down for any event I needed to plan!
We had our wedding reception at the Patrick Henry Ballroom in May 2016. The room alone speaks for itself…I loved the classic beauty, the history, and the elegant details of the spa...
ce, but also the excellent customer service! Seth went above and beyond to make sure everything was just how we wanted it and to make sure that we didn’t have to worry about a thing on our wedding day. Not only that, but he was accessible and responsive. He even responded to a panicked email I sent him at midnight one night at 6am the next day when I had left my wedding shoes at the venue following a photo shoot. We truly got high quality customer service with the beautiful historical setting that is the Patrick Henry Ballroom.
The space is hands-down, beautiful! It's elegant and worthy of a wedding, doesn't even require excessive decoration. The staff was attentive and helpful, making sure the space was...
open in time for the vendors to arrive and were at my side for any questions I had. Also, the governor's suite that came with the event space made the entire day so relaxing!
I got ready in the suite, had plenty of space for hair and makeup, and had all my bridesmaids there to see me put my dress on. After the wedding, my husband and I stayed and the suite and thoroughly enjoyed having both the living room and the bedroom. It also made it easy for our caterer to save us the food left over from the event.
BEST place! Perfect for our wedding day.
If you are looking for an absolutely beautiful venue with history to boot, then you cannot get much better than the Patrick Henry. We didn't really even need to decorate for our we...
dding because the room spoke for itself. Another plus is that the ballroom opens up on to a promenade that overlooks the lobby. However, I experienced several issues with this business. First we wanted to have our ceremony and reception at the same place, so we were told they could flip the room after the ceremony, but it turned out to be more trouble than it was worth. Most of our vendors had an issue with this flip, and the person who booked it for us originally either quit or was fired, so the people coming in were out of the loop. Then I had issues getting in the building on several occasions, getting a hold of anyone, and then people saying we hadn’t paid when we had and not responding when I asked if it has been cleared up. Like I mentioned, I really liked the room itself, but the staff really needs to get it together. I tried to call and email several people, sometimes getting different responses from different people, sometimes not hearing back at all. There are several phone numbers, but we could never get a hold of anyone or get a call back. They need to hire someone who has hospitality experience and knows what is expected of them from a bride's point of view. This is a stressful time, and they need to be sure to return phone calls and emails in a timely manner. There needs to be better coordination on their end to make sure people can get into the building when they need to, or have a phone line where a person can reach an actual person on the premises. I worked in a hotel for five years, and while I just worked front desk, I saw what our sales people did to accommodate brides. Hospitality is a 24-7 business, and this place needs a person in there that knows that and is ready to accommodate.
This venue is gorgeous!! If you're looking for a classic, vintage feel, this is the place!!! Recently opened so still working out the kinks but well worth it!!
I had my Ceremony and Reception in the beautiful venue. Erin and her staff went above and beyond to make my day go smooth!
