Toast & Jam DJs

Toast & Jam and DJ Wayne were so great to work with for our wedding!!! They were actually recommended to us separately by both our photographer and wedding planner after we described what we wanted from a DJ. Neither of us are particularly well versed in music but it’s such an important part of the day, and we were in great hands with Wayne. We were able to tell him a general vibe for music at all points in the day and he executed things perfectly. For our chosen processional and recessional songs, he was helpful in making sure they fit all the needs of those moments. The whole process with Toast & Jam was very smooth! We also really appreciated the list of songs they prefer not to play as those really matched with what we wanted from our wedding. They were such a great part of our wedding!!

Chris rocked our worlds!!! DJs can make or break a wedding, so going into planning we were pretty nervous about this decision. Our Coordinator recommended Toast & Jam and boy are we glad she did. From our first meeting with Chris we knew we were in good hands. He was able to effortlessly blend our wildly eclectic music tastes and hyper-specific cultural songs without batting an eye. He also smoothly MC'd the whole night. At least 50 of our guests have told us that he was the best wedding DJ they've ever had, so we know we are not biased!! His ability to read a crowd is unreal. The photobooth was also a huge hit. If you're considering it, DO IT, it was a perfect keepsake for guests. We cannot recommend highly enough Chris and Toast & Jam, our wedding was a certified banger.

I’m so excited to write this review! Toast & Jam is the BEST chicago wedding DJ!!! Toast & Jam came recommended to us by our venue, Firehouse Chicago, and after pricing vendors and our priorities–a lit dance floor and amazing MC, we went with Toast & Jam! I am so glad we did, DJ Kate was incredible to work with and she really understood us and our vision. We love music and it's a central part of our relationship so we had some must plays for different parts of the day, such as walking down the aisle to The Cure, Friday, I’m in Love for our Friday wedding. She added in music that was exactly right for the moment that would make me look over at her with a big smile and thumbs up, that is how on point she was! Our dancefloor was packed and my husband and I danced for the entire 3 hours, it was exactly what we wanted and our guest had the best time! We are so grateful to Toast & Jam for really understanding the wedding DJ skill and going above and beyond to deliver the best time and memories. Damani from Toast and Jam DJs is AMAZING—he was by far our favorite vendor and favorite part of our wedding. Leading up to the wedding—he was incredibly communicative with us, jumping on multiple calls/emails/text message threads to understand our vision so that he could execute a perfect day for us. He absolutely delivered, and we so appreciate his care and professionalism. The wedding day and night itself was PERFECT! The music, the mixing, the MC work that he did, coordinating all the timings with the staff and the dancers etc—everything was amazing and on point! Not a lot of DJs would have taken the time to go so above and beyond to incorporate culture into the wedding—we had Sri Lankan dance performers and requested Sri Lankan music on the dance floor—and he took the time to listen to the music to mix it with American music as well as watch the dance videos to understand what the performances and timing and flow of the night would be like. He worked well not only with the hotel staff and the planner, but also our dance troupe. We can’t thank him enough and really appreciate all of the work that he did to blend everything together seamlessly from cocktail hour through the reception. All of our guests told us that the DJ was on fire the entire night and that they have never been to a wedding with that amazing of a playlist. Also, as the first in our small Sri Lankan community to get married—everyone was super impressed and excited to be able to celebrate with the music that we grew up with. We definitely set a trend, that I am hopeful will continue because celebrating our cultures is part of celebrating our marriage and we are so happy to have had a DJ who really understands that. Thanks to Damani again for helping to create an unforgettable night—his work was definitely the highlight of the wedding!!! We would absolutely recommend him to any couple that really wants the night to feel like them and to also be high energy and fun the entire time!

We had an incredible experience working with Mary McKane and the Toast & Jam team! From my husband’s pre-teen cousins to my 96-year-old grandfather, everyone was out on the dance floor—exactly what we had hoped for. It was so important to me to have a mix of songs from different decades to keep the energy up and make sure all of our guests felt excited to join the party. Mary understood that perfectly and curated a playlist that kept the dance floor packed all night. I felt completely at ease knowing the music was in such great hands, and I never had to worry about a thing. The planning process was a breeze, too! I loved that we were given an extensive list of songs where we could indicate our must-plays, likes, and dislikes. It made it so easy for Mary to tailor the music to our taste while keeping the vibe just right for the crowd. I can’t recommend Mary and the Toast & Jam team enough!!

WORK WITH TOAST & JAMS AND REQUEST CHRIS GEMERCHAK. I can't recommend Chris G at Toast & Jams enough. He was SO great to work with. We were pretty specific in wanting a high energy 3 hour block of dance bangers for our vow renewal. Chris was open to all our requests (even a few late ones), brought great ideas to the table, and did an absolutely amazing job mixing the songs. I danced for all 3 hours and had an absolute blast in the processes, as did our guests. Beyond the outstanding mixing, Chris did a great job with announcements throughout the evening, bringing the energy and good vibes the whole time. I really can't say enough about Chris. We could not have been more pleased with the process and the day of event! Thank you Chris!

Put simply, Damani gets it. Not only was he easy to work with from our first meeting all the way through our wedding, but he was also quick to understand the vision we had and helped build it into a reality. We told Damani that we wanted our dance floor to open and never have a lull, and he certainly delivered. We received so many comments from friends and family about the song selections and how high energy the dance floor was from first song to last. Aside from curating a playlist of bangers for our dance floor, Damani even helped us with some custom music cues during our ceremony and customized several songs we used for special dances during the reception. Having a photo booth provided by Toast and Jam also made things a breeze. Triss managed the very popular booth all night, helping facilitate groups large and small and even offering ideas for poses with cool effects. She even surprised us by compiling all photo strips into an album that guests had signed with personalized messages. We would work with Toast and Jam for DJ and photobooth services again in a heartbeat!
