A Romantic, Rustic Wedding at Pear Valley Winery in Paso Robles, California
Courtney Ghilarducci (29 and an office manager and baker) and Jack Dendy (36 and a contractor) planned a relaxed but refined affair in soft pastels and warm neutrals. Pear Valley Winery in Paso Robles, California, provided a picturesque backdrop for the event with its rolling hills, vine-covered acres and quaint, European-style architecture.
The day started with an outdoor ceremony on the stone terrace overlooking the vineyards and Paso Robles beyond. “Since there was so much natural beauty, we kep the decoration very simple,” says Courtney. “A couple of floral arrangements at the front and end of the aisle, displayed on barrels—that’s it!”
After exchanging vows, the newlyweds and their guests gathered in the winery’s tasting room for cocktail hour before heading to the banquet hall for dinner and dancing. Wooden farm tables and French country chairs infused the room with warmth and rustic flair; crisp white and pink linens, mercury glass and pewter accents, floating candles and arrangements of blush roses and green hydrangeas brought the couple’s romantic vision to life. “I love mixing rustic pieces with traditional details,” Courtney says.
To personalize the decor, Jack and Courtney placed framed childhood photos throughout the room and treated guests to a standout dessert display (a must for Courtney, who is a baker). A tip for the taking from Courtney: “We received a lot of advice as we were going through the planning process, but the one thing that really stood out was how important it is to enjoy that day and relax! It goes by fast, so take some time to soak in everything, and realize how blessed you are to have all your friends and family there for you.” —Libby MacCarthy
