A Rustic-Chic DIY Celebration at Grace Haven Baptist Fellowship in Youngsville, North Carolina

Victoria Jones (22 and an event coordinator) and Joshua Radford (23 and a heating and air specialist) began their relationship in high school, so when it was time to plan their wedding, the couple easily decided on a hometown affair at The Pavilion at Grave Haven, a property of Grace Haven Baptist Fellowship. "This is the church that Josh grew up attending and he even helped erect the The Pavilion's structure during his years in the youth group," says Victoria. "We wanted the wedding to focus on our roots as a couple, and it seemed like the perfect location for us to say our vows and begin our marriage!" A burgundy, chocolate brown and white color palette added a seasonal feel to the shabby-chic celebration and a variety of lawn games created a welcoming feel. Vintage plates, hand painted by the bride, served as mismatched table numbers and wicker chargers warmed the understated tablescapes. As a personal touch, the bride's father and grandfather built "pallet walls" to display family photos and heirlooms during the rustic reception. As a lover of DIY projects, the couple decided to create anything they couldn't find or afford to fit the vision of their wedding, and anything they did buy, they tried to purchase locally. "Our families value local businesses and do our best to support our community," says Victoria. "We even served drinks purchased from local breweries and wineries."

The couple love getting their hands dirty to put personal touches on projects, and their wedding was no exception.
"Every girl wants to feel like a princess on her wedding day, and my Lazaro dress truly belonged in a fairytale," says Victoria. "The top of the dress was all lace, fitted at the waist with a belt, with tulle blooming at the waistline to the floor and lace crawling up the skirt."
The goal for their wedding reception was to make guests feel comfortable. "I even provided cornhole boards, checkers and a few other games for guests to enjoy during cocktail hour," says Victoria.
