A Rustic Fall Wedding at a Family Farm in Orford, New Hampshire

Molly Tullar (27 and a golf professional) always knew she wanted to say her “I do’s” at her family’s dairy farm in Orford, NH, so when Alex Braid (28 and works in finance) popped the question, it didn’t take long for the couple to settle on a venue.

Drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of the New England setting in early September, Molly and Alex chose an organic, rustic theme for the day with a color palette inspired by nature itself with shades of green, white and dusty rose. The couple’s network of family and friends pitched in to help make the day feel incredibly personalized and sentimental, from the three-tier buttercream carrot cake made by Molly’s mother to the homemade maple syrup favors and vintage bottles dotting the reception tables that Molly’s uncle collected throughout the New Hampshire and Vermont woods. All of the flowers were grown by Molly’s family and the couple’s close friends played an active role in their ceremony, officiating, reading poems and sharing their musical talents.

The couple even incorporated golf-inspired details, a nod to the story of how they first met and Alex’s proposal — both of which occurred on a golf course, like putting green flag table numbers. Topnotch entertainment was non-negotiable for Molly and Alex and the band The Conniption Fits didn’t disappoint. They kept the party going and the dance floor packed late into the night.

A tip for the taking from Molly and Alex: “As a couple we appreciate time spent together doing things outdoors, from hiking and walking our dog to playing golf. We were very thankful that our wedding represented who we are and involved the people who we love. We had so many relatives and friends coming from overseas, so we held many events the week of the wedding to bring everyone together. It made the wedding even more fun knowing that everyone had already met and knew each other. For example, we held a ‘Ryder Cup’ golf tournament before the rehearsal dinner, Australia vs. U.S., and paired everyone up with friends and family from both sides. This was a big hit, and made for a great kickoff to the weekend!”
