A Traditional Ballroom Wedding With a Musical Twist at the Masonic Temple in Detroit, Michigan
The theme for Patricia Kota (28 and works in event marketing) and Bryan Fleck's (26 and works in event marketing) wedding was more about them as a couple than an idea of color. "We added touches of what we like to do together. For example, we love going to concerts together, so we included concert tickets in the invitation and used 12-inch records as our chargers, and we had everyone sign a concert poster as our guest book," Patricia says. "We also love Detroit, and given so many people were from out of town or rarely visit, we highlighted cool spots by naming each table with a city landmark and adding some fun facts about it taking a picture in front of it and including a vintage postcard (which I collect) of what it looked like back in the day." To contrast with the formality of their venue, Patricia and Bryan wanted their florals to look like they had been plucked fresh from their backyard, relying on thistle, hydrangea branches and anemones throughout the day's decor. —Meghan Overdeep
