A Traditional Jewish Wedding at Mizner Country Club in Delray Beach, Florida
Rachel Askinazy (28 and an attorney) and Alec Schrager’s (30 and a commodities broker) white and silver wedding incorporated Jewish traditions with a few personalized touches. “The wedding theme was simply elegant with all-white flowers," says Rachel. "We wanted a simple, romantic winter wedding in Florida.” Jeff Kolodny Photography Inc. was there to capture each moment as the couple celebrated with an intimate first look, palm-tree-lined evening ceremony and a classic indoor reception at Mizner Country Club. For Rachel and Alec, their venue was already filled with memories. “My parents love Mizner Country Club. It always had such special meaning,” Rachel says. “I’ve been visiting and vacationing there since I was 14 years old.” Joel Patrick Floral Events designed two bouquets of white roses and hydrangeas for the couple’s all-white poolside ceremony huppah. Similar arrangements were used on each reception table as the couple’s florist created tall glass centerpieces topped with white hydrangeas, roses and delphiniums. Floating tealight candles surrounded each centerpiece. Cascading greenery and white roses also decorated the couple’s four-tier white wedding cake. For an unexpected twist, Rachel and Alec’s confection complemented the venue’s mosaic waterfall, as the third tier was covered with intricate blue, red and silver detailing. Alec and Rachel’s 175 guests were treated to a piece of the creative confection as well as an assortment of mini desserts. “Every single guest said that he or she felt the love in the room,” Rachel says. “We danced the night away and tried to dance with every guest.”
