This Romantic Wedding at Dover Hall Estate in Richmond, Virginia, Included a Bagpipe Player
After shifting their wedding date three times because of the pandemic, Becca and Malcolm finally said "I do" with a formal, classic wedding at Dover Hall Estate in Richmond, Virginia, that included a bagpipe player and cigar roller. Since Dover Hall is already beautiful on its own, the couple settled on a simple, elegant color palette with soft blues to complement the venue. "We honestly didn’t need to do much because the setting of Dover Hall Estates was so beautiful on its own, both inside the mansion and outside on the grounds," says Becca.
From custom wine cork escort cards to DIY table signage, Becca and Malcolm found a plethora of ways to personalize their wedding and add their own special flair to the Richmond event. "We wanted to honor certain traditions, which included music provided by a bagpiper and an Episcopal ceremony officiated by a priest from a church where Malcolm sang professionally for ten years." For further personalization, the couple also chose to give out personalized bottles of hand sanitizer as favors in addition to the drink koozies they also gifted attendees. Becca goes on to share that "even with a smaller guest list due to COVID, we made the decision to still have a full band as entertainment since we really just wanted our wedding to be an amazing party. That turned out to be the best decision EVER. That was definitely our favorite part of the whole day!"
Looking back on their wedding at Dover Hall Estate in Richmond, Virginia, Becca and Malcolm encourage other to-be-weds in the throes of wedding planning to "get a wedding planner, even if it’s just a day-of planner. They will make your lives so much easier as they take care of things you never even knew were happening or you needed. Also, find a photographer that truly has a vision, understands your vision, and is so happy for you that they become a true friend. Lastly, just have fun and enjoy your day!"
