The Gown
The “Renaissance bride” designed her own gown made of off-white duchesse satin and featuring a split scoop neck, empire waist, and a skirt that she describes as “halfway between an A-line and a mermaid shape.” Accenting the basic shape was a two-layer silk organza overlay on the skirt, tulle edging around the neckline, and a fuchsia, silk charmeuse tie at the empire waist for a kick of color. Although she designed her own gown, Farrah had a professional dressmaker sew it for her.
