Grant and Taylor have know each other for about 15 years. Of course, they haven't been a couple that whole time. Here are a few wholesome, funny, and memorable snapshots from the couple's past and present.

October 2012

Did you know that Taylor was the first person Grant ever slow danced with? The two danced at an FVL homecoming dance when Taylor was a Sophomore and Grant was a Junior in high School. Grant was so nervous that he was noticeably shaking throughout the dance. When Taylor asked Grant if he was alright, Grant responded that he was "just really cold" (at a high school dance, in a gym with a bunch of sweaty teenagers dancing the night away.... "cold"... right ;)

January 2018

Grant attended Martin Luther College (MLC). One weekend, Taylor visited MLC with some of her college friends. The weekend Taylor visited, there was a college party hosted by COS, an organization which Grant was the treasurer (or he probably wouldn't have been at the party in the first place :) At the party, Taylor bumped into Grant and the two had a lovely time chatting and dancing throughout the evening.

July 2021

Taylor and Grant 're-met?' at a wedding. One of Taylor's college friends married one of Grant's college friends. The two had a great time catching up at the wedding. After several hours of talking, the night was coming to an end. As Taylor was about to leave, she very bluntly asked Grant, "So are you going to ask for my phone number or what?" The couple has been talking ever since.

November 2021

After several months of texting, phone calls, and FaceTiming (Taylor lived in Miami. Grant lived in Denver), Taylor flew out to Denver over Thanksgiving for their first 'official date.' The couple went out for dinner and drinks in downtown Denver and had a lovely time! However, the great times came to a quick end when Taylor and Grant returned to Grant's apartment and realized the electronic lock that Grant had on his apartment door died and the two were locked out of the apartment.. at midnight.. with all their stuff inside. Great end to a first date :)

November 2021-June 2024

Blah blah blah...typical love story stuff. The couple was long distance, so their relationship was filled with lots of flights, many national park visits across the United States, and some family holidays sprinkled in here and there.

July 2024

If you follow Taylor on Instagram, you've seen the 'draft' polls that the couple posts. If you aren't familiar, it's a game where they each 'draft' a top 4 items in different categories. (Example: Best Vacation Countries Option 1) Greece, Spain, Japan, Mexico vs. Option 2) Australia, Italy, Iceland, Israel) and the followers vote for their favorite. One random July day the couple was at the local Doral brewery (MIA Brewhaus) and Grant wanted to do a draft of 'Best places to get engaged.' After the classics of 'destination vacation' or 'fancy restaurant' were picked, his last choice was "right here right now at MIA" :) And just like that, the couple was engaged.
