We met in Seattle after Chris had only been in the city one week. Being no stranger to local bars, I offered to take Chris on a bar hopping tour of his new neighborhood. There were drinks, Photo Booth pictures, and lots of butterflies. We ended the night watching Bob Ross paint happy little trees convinced we could paint like that if we tried. Sitting there enjoying each other’s company…that’s pretty much when we thought, "Okay. This could be something."

The anniversary of when we first met, was just around the corner. When Chris finally got the finished ring, he couldn’t wait to pop the question. Oblivious as ever, when he asked me to grab his work notes, reading “Turn Around” I did the only thing that felt right. I began to serenade him with my rendition of “Turn Around Bright Eyes” foiling his first attempt to get on one knee.
He didn’t let that stop him, determined to surprise me. He tricked me into thinking I was going to be forced to unpack instead of relax on my Friday night, I went into the guest room to find him down on one knee. Making sure our pup still played her part, Jessie’s paw print held the most beautiful ring ever and after a perfect speech, I was tearing up as I said, “Yes!”
We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.
See you in Fort Wayne!
