I first met Andrew in 2016 at our college, GVSU. My friend Alessandra knew his friend Candella. I was instantly interested in Andrew and was always looking for excuses to see him. Eventually we ended up going our separate ways and after graduation I moved to Nashville to pursue nursing.
A few years later we reconnected and Andrew asked me on a date to the Detroit Lions game when I was home for Christmas. He knew that was my favorite sports team and I couldn’t say no. However after talking to my dad and twin brother we quickly realized my exciting first date was in Atlanta and the Lions game he bought tickets to was an away game. We ended up bar hoping in Detroit for our first date. All those feelings I had in college came flooding back and I was hooked. From there on out we were constantly talking and making trips to see each other.
Eventually, we made it official and Andrew got a new job and moved down to Nashville. A year later we moved in together, got our dog named Bentley, and he even gained my dad and twins approval. After living together for a year he drove me to Franklin, TN to propose and I said yes :)
I first met Alexa in 2016 while we were both in college. I met her through our mutual friends, while we both had our friend groups by that time, I got to spend enough time with Alexa to know that she was a kind-hearted, loving, beautiful girl that I wanted to know more of.
We’d see each other occasionally over the next couple years eventually falling out of touch.. and I knew for a lot longer than I’d ever let on that she was the one that got away.
Years later, I saw a message pop up that she had responded to something I posted, and somehow I knew before I even looked at the message that I had an opportunity I needed to take full advantage of or I would end up looking back on it wondering and wishing.
Alexa and I reconnected almost immediately. I knew she had plans to come back to Michigan for the holidays and so I took my shot, eagerly planned us a date in Detroit and well.. you probably know how that story plays out. But , I got to spend time with this amazing girl anyway, and I fell in love with her over the simple fact that she didn’t care much at all that we didn’t get to go to the game, she wanted to spend time with me and I knew that she chose to pursue that when she could’ve just chosen to spend time with family or any number of friends.
It didn’t take long for me to take the leap and move down to Nashville, I wanted to see her every day and we’ve done just that. She’s my best friend, my better half, and I’d ask her to be mine in every single one of a thousand lifetimes.
