Amanda and I met studying abroad in Sevilla (she had a boyfriend at the time, so she claims she wasn't 'interested'). I can’t really explain it, but after Sevilla, I knew that I was going to end up with her. Maybe it was because we shared a love for the same Jimmy John’s sandwich (a Club Lulu - our Valentine’s day tradition), but even senior year of college I would tell my friends that I would date her once I moved to New York. Sure enough, 3 days before I moved to the city I sent her a text asking her out. The week I moved, we went on a date and there’s never been any doubt in my mind since then.
Life with Amanda has been an absolute adventure-- whether it's traveling the world together, planning group trips to Vermont with friends, navigating long distance from NYC to Chicago, or realizing how many clothes a girl could fit in one closet when moving in together for the first time (who needs 50 sweaters?!).
Amanda is my best friend. She makes me laugh and smile, she makes me change my mind, she makes me bang my head against the wall, and she makes me a more empathetic and understanding person. I'm so happy I get to spend life with her and can't wait to celebrate with all of our closest family and friends!
