On December 3, 2023 Brent and Amber met for the first time. They had occasionally messaged on Hinge and heard about each other through mutual friends, but Amber was in Europe and Brent was home for the holidays so not much came out of that. Then the Sunday after they both got back to Chicago, Brent was running late to church with his Sunday morning Bible Study. The only available row for all of them at that point was the very first row. As Brent turned the corner, he saw the love of his life standing right next to him. Surprised to see Amber, he responded the only way he knew how, popping some double barrel finger guns her way. It was then and there that Amber knew Brent was special, so they met up after service and planned their first date. Lucky for him, he hit his target.

Trying to be unique, Brent asked Amber to go out for boba tea in place of a cliché coffee date. After chatting for a bit, we decided to stretch our legs and go on a walk around Lincoln Park. Here’s the catch - it was subzero temps that night. Not wanting the date to end, Brent took Amber to Taco Bell to warm up. Through a series of events including spilling hot sauce on his pants, unexpected encounters with local patrons and an accidental proposal to Amber (followed by the real one + Taco Bell 7 months later) our lives were never the same.
