It all began in 2019, when Austin and Emilie found themselves in the vibrant city of Hong Kong, both working for an outdoor education company. On their very first encounter, Austin, ever the gentleman, graciously offered to carry Emilie’s 50-pound suitcase uphill for a whole mile. That’s right, a mile! If that wasn’t a sign of true love in the making, we don’t know what is!

As the days passed, their friendship grew stronger, and after a few months of getting to know each other, Austin finally asked Emilie out on a date. Their first date? Pierogies (Emilie was shocked to learn Austin had never had them before!) and a visit to the zoo, where they spent hours laughing and getting to know each other even more.

While living abroad, they took in the sights and sounds of Hong Kong – experiencing the culture, the food, and even the Hong Kong protests. Through it all, Austin and Emilie grew closer, traveling to new places, soaking in every moment, and supporting each other through the highs and lows of life overseas. And now, after all these adventures, they’re ready to embark on the greatest journey of all – marriage!
