It all started with a swipe.
In March of 2020, at the very beginning of a year none of us could have predicted, Robert and Brea met through the Hinge dating app. What began as a few lighthearted messages quickly turned into long conversations, endless laughter, and a shared feeling that something truly special had begun.

In April of 2020, Robert and Brea met for their first date at Quarton Lake. What was meant to be a quick dog walk naturally turned into a three-hour stroll, lost in conversation as they circled the lake. They knew then they would be inseparable.

Amidst the lockdown and global pandemic, they planned creative date nights as their relationship grew — from at-home sushi nights to painting parties to discovering all the best hiking trails nearby. They found love and adventure in everything they did.

As the months went on, they discovered just how much they had in common. Cooking became their way of showing love, travel their way of exploring the world (and each other), and home their favorite place to be — especially with their little furry family by their side.

Fast forward to January 2024. While visiting Naples, Florida, Robert asked Brea the question that would change everything. On a beautiful day by the water, he got down on one knee — and she said “yes” without a moment’s hesitation.

Now, they’re counting down the days until September 20, 2025, when they will say “I do” at The Godfrey Hotel in Detroit, surrounded by family and friends. It will be a celebration of love, laughter, and the life they’ve built together — a journey that started with a match and will continue for a lifetime.
