It all began in 2018 at Hudson Regal Cinemas. Sydni had just started working there when Brian, then 17, was asked by a manager to show the new girl around. Sydni was incredibly shy and barely said a word, while Brian—doing his best to impress—acted like he knew it all. That day sparked a friendship that would grow over the next two years.
On New Year’s Day 2020, Brian was in Oceanside, New York, texting Sydni—over 500 miles away—to plan their first date. Sydni, nervous and uncertain, wasn’t sure what to expect. But on June 15, 2020, they finally met in person at Panera Bread in Hudson, Ohio.
Brian arrived early and was greeted by Officer Burchard—Sydni’s dad—who stopped him for a quick chat about the date. Sydni arrived right on time, dropped off by her mom. Brian had already eaten (nervously), while Sydni was too anxious to eat at all. They spent the rest of the evening walking around town and made plans to see each other again.
The next four years brought distance and growth. Brian served in the National Guard and studied engineering in Maryland, while Sydni remained in Ohio to complete nursing school. Despite the challenges, their love never wavered. In May 2024, they were finally reunited when Brian moved back to Ohio.
Since then, they’ve bought a home together, and Brian has been busy preparing it for their future. After nearly six wonderful years, they’re overjoyed to be starting this new chapter—together.
Thank you for being here to share in our joy. Your love and support mean the world to us. ~ Brian & Sydni
