Our signature pose through the years (in the same McCashland basement)!! We are lucky to have been able to grow up together :)

March 13, 2013

Derrick asks Brooklyn out for the first time. This is a favorite memory of Brooklyn's parents- Derrick rang the doorbell at 7am asking for Brooklyn to show her the chalk he had written out in the driveway. It said "will you go out with me" :)

Other fun high school memories!! Homecoming, football games, & surprises from Derrick.

College meant long distance while Brooklyn was in Fort Worth at TCU and Derrick was in Lincoln at NWU. We soaked up time together when we were home for breaks & racked up some airline miles visiting each other. Many anniversaries were celebrated watching fireworks, we spent lots of time at the lake, & made the best of regular FaceTime dates.

We moved into our first apartment together in Irving, TX. This place will always be special to us. We loved our lake views & exploring Dallas with Derrick's sister Valerie.

We got engaged!! We traveled to see Brooklyn's parents in Sarasota, FL for Easter weekend. We stopped at the beach to "see dolphins" before heading to a nice dinner. Derrick proposed on beach access 7 in Siesta Key & we spent a long time on the beach laughing, taking pictures, & sharing the news with family who wasn't there. It was our favorite day!
