The good old fashioned way, at work! We first met at Student Programs, our first team at Amazon. We were just coworkers, and then just friends... but then...

Coming out of COVID lockdown in 2021, we were two of the first people on our team to begin coming back into the office regularly. Because of that, we got to know each other better and found excuses to spend time together at the office 1:1. Sophie would come down to the coffee shop for Brycen's afternoon americano, even when she knew coffee that late would keep her up all night.

After many months of hanging out at work and texting each other outside of work, Sophie got the encouragement from a co-worker to ask Brycen out on a date (thank you Issy!). We had our first date at a rooftop bar in Seattle called M-Bar. We kept the good vibes going and ended up grabbing unplanned dinner at Dick's Drive-In, ending the night at Kerry Park where Brycen asked Sophie on a second date to see John Mayer.

One date turned into two, then two into many. Soon we were a full fledged exclusive couple! Over the next three years, our lives fully intertwined and we developed a deep love for each other. We have learned (and continue to learn) more about what it means to truly be one another's partner in life. This all led to one big question to answer....

Brycen proposed to Sophie at West Seattle on 4/12/25, near the same spot where we first became "official" 3 years earlier. It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon! After the proposal, we went to a surprise dinner with our families at one of our favorite restaurants, Stoneburner in Ballard. We cannot wait to be married!
