We were just 15 when we started dating in August of 2016—aka the era of Vine, way too much Axe body spray, and texting each other "wyd" every 5 minutes.

Even though we went to different schools and were always busy with sports and pretending to study, we made time for each other. “Study dates” (which involved very little studying, more like Chick-Fil-A dates) and movie nights at the old Wynnsong 12 Theater—where popcorn was shared, hands were awkwardly held, and Lauren always asked too many questions during the movie.

In 2018, life took a turn when Lauren moved to Texas. We went our separate ways, thinking our story might just be one of those “young love” chapters. But clearly fate (and maybe FaceTime) had other plans.

In fall of 2021, after years apart, we reconnected with daily video calls that turned into something we couldn’t ignore. Turns out, some love stories just need a little intermission.

In May of 2022, shortly after turning 21, Cameron made the ultimate leap of love—and moved to Texas! (Yes, he’s still adjusting to the heat and saying “y’all” unironically.)

Since then, our love has grown in all the best (and occasionally chaotic) ways. We’ve learned how to grocery shop together without starting a mild debate in aisle 7, discovered that two people can, in fact, binge-watch 17 hours of TV in a weekend, and most importantly, built a life full of laughter, inside jokes, and a whole lotta love.

From teenage crushes, to long-distance soulmates, to now, we’re so excited for everything ahead—kids, dogs, dreams, dance parties in the kitchen, and growing old together while still arguing over who gets the last fry. ♡
