Once upon a time in a local pub in Kirkwall called Skippers, Cara caught John’s eye across a crowded bar. Now this is where John and Cara’s version of events differ. John will tell people Cara abducted him and led him astray. But the truth is that John left the pub skipping and serenaded Cara to a mighty rendition of Christie Moore ‘Lisdoonvarna’.

Fast forward though covid, a house and a dog later, John decided to take the leap and ask Cara to marry him. On a dreich Saturday afternoon on 6th August 2022, John got down on one knee on a dog walk to Inganess beach. One wet knee later, a lead around her neck and dog poop bags in her pocket, Cara gladly accepted Johns proposal. A stroll to the shore turned into so much more!

After 4 years together, we can't wait to celebrate with all of you in June 2024!
