Clare and AJ’s story began in December 2021 at the Iowa Taproom. Holiday spirit was in the air and, unfortunately, so was Covid. AJ had come down with the illness which had delayed the two’s initial meeting, but was the only thing on his mind after being released from confinement. One tasteless dinner and some drinks at the couple’s favorite East Village bars later, the two knew this was something different.

In the years since, the couple has spent their time together traveling as much as possible, going to any concert they can get tickets to, playing with their beloved dog, Rocco, and sharing many laughs along the way. Some of their best memories have been made while on the side of a mountain in Colorado, or in any number of baseball and football stadiums throughout the country.

AJ proposed to Clare on his birthday, July 31st, to catch her by surprise under the guise of getting ready for a birthday dinner with friends. Needless to say, Clare accepted with Rocco close by observing the festivities. They are very excited to complete their final progression as a couple and see everyone in Des Moines for their celebration in August!
