It all started at Annawan High School in 2016. Connor was in the class above me and we would often cross paths in the one major hallway in school. We never really talked until he managed to get my Snapchat. Yes, you read that right. Snapchat was what started everything. In fact, he asked me to go to prom by Snapchat. We attended prom in April with me wearing a white dress and us taking our first picture together. Connor getting my Snapchat in March resulted in us attending prom together and we started dating on May 25th, 2016.

Fast forward to my birthday, almost exactly a year and a half later, Connor gave me a promise ring. From there we both graduated from Annawan High School and I continued my education at Black Hawk College. I then started my nursing school journey and started dropping “hints” to Connor. However, these were not hints directed at an engagement ring. They were hints that included the need to get a puppy. After sending him pictures all the time of puppies for sale, Connor decided to surprise me with a labradoodle puppy! Remi was welcomed into the family on July 17th of 2021 and has made a big impact in our daily lives.

I always told Connor that I didn’t want to plan a wedding while in nursing school. I knew deep down he wouldn’t listen. On July 7th, Connor proposed to me. He proposed at a pond where we had one of our first of many dates. I obviously said yes and was filled with emotions. Connor and I now get to copy the first photo we ever took together with me in a white dress. Although, this time I will be walking down the aisle in a white dress about to become his wife. 🤍
