Dakota and Jeremy met on July 19th, 2020, at the server's station in The Place. Dakota was a brand new employee at the downtown restaurant, and Jeremy was extremely experienced in the art of serving chicken and waffles.

Dakota's first impression of Jeremy was his height, and Jeremy recalls how pretty her eyes were. This was COVID, however, so neither could see the other's full face - but they immediately connected over a dumb joke by the dishwasher.

Over the next few months, both could not deny their connection and as their friends conspired to get them together, they started their lives together with a first kiss in the rain weeks after the first day of fall.

After a whirlwind courtship that saw the pair coming up with baby names on the second date, the two made it official with a day-long scavenger hunt planned by Jeremy on December 9th, 2020.

With Jeremy in school and Dakota taking a year off before she intended to go to UGA Law, the two had a lot to balance between busy social lives, working at The Place, spending time with family, and managing school. However, they thrived as a dynamic duo, putting each other first and finding time to honor their relationship & each other in their hectic lives!

2021 was a year of change as Jeremy took an internship in Boston over the summer. With only a few months under their belt as a couple, the two decided to try out long distance! Dakota and Jeremy made it work through Facetime calls, movies on Teleparty and lots of visits, which saw a visit to New York City, Fenway Park for a Red Sox game and even a trip up to Maine! Jeremy also joined Dakota's family's annual trip to Hilton Head for the first time and got to know her family.

Big steps were made this year! Dakota and Jeremy moved in to the same home (plus the MOH, Miranda) and were thrilled to discover that living together had them happier and more in love than ever. They also celebrated many firsts by going skydiving, visiting California (and Disneyland!) together, going skiing in Wyoming, seeing their favorite podcast live in Texas, and much more! Career moves were made - Dakota started her job in PR & marketing, while Jeremy graduated from UGA and began working as a Landscape Designer. These two were really on their way!

Possibly the biggest and most exciting year in their relationship yet. Dakota and Jeremy got engaged on June 20th, 2023 on the beaches of Hilton Head Island, SC - just about a hundred feet from where Jeremy had secretly organized beloved friends and family to make the trip and celebrate - and celebrate they did!

Now, these two are so thrilled and excited to get married and celebrate their love in 2024!
