How We Met:

Our love story began back in middle school when Sam and I secretly held big crushes on each other. We would pass notes in class, text each other constantly, and stay up talking on the phone for hours. Yet, despite how close we were, neither of us ever worked up the courage to confess our feelings. We stayed best friends until life pulled us in different directions for high school, and over time, we drifted apart.

The Early Days:

It wasn’t until our senior year of high school that we crossed paths again, rekindling our friendship. We started talking regularly and went on our very first date at IHOP, just as shy around each other as we’d been back in middle school. After a few more dates, including one spontaneous date to the Lake Erie pier, we felt the same spark we’d had years before. Prom came, and we went together as each other’s dates as if no time had passed. But just as quickly, life pulled us apart again—this time as we prepared to head off to different colleges across the state.

The Big Moments:

A year into college, with miles between us, it might have seemed like we’d drift apart again—but this time was different. We made it a priority to keep our connection alive, talking as often as we could and visiting each other whenever our schedules allowed. Every holiday and long weekend became a treasured opportunity to be together. Just shy of a year after reconnecting, Sam officially asked me to be his girlfriend, and our long-distance relationship began.

Those early years together were full of unforgettable adventures, late-night conversations, and heartfelt support for each other’s dreams. Through every challenge and every reunion, we were growing closer and building a life together. Now, after eight incredible years, we know it’s the little moments that mean the most: the shared glances, walks in the woods, inside jokes, and weekends spent at my farmer's markets. Every day, we’ve found more reasons to love each other.

The Proposal:

In February 2024, Sam asked me to come over to his house in a rush. When I arrived, I found a trail of rose petals leading to a surprise I could have never imagined: rose petals on the floor spelled out the words “MARRY ME?” I looked around in total shock, surrounded by a room full of balloons and roses. As I turned around, I found Sam down on one knee, asking me to spend forever with him. My heart was full, and I couldn’t have said "YES" fast enough.

What makes us special is how we’ve always supported each other’s dreams and ambitions, never losing sight of what makes us unique as individuals and as a couple. We believe in growing together, laughing together, and cherishing every moment, big and small. Each day is a reminder of how lucky we are to have found each other and how grateful we are for this journey we’re on together.
