After a long day of school at work at BYU-I, I came home to my roommate letting me know that 2 guys were coming over to hang out tonight, and that one of them (Jefry) liked her, but she did not like him back, so I was supposed to distract him so that we could all have a fun evening. I asked if he was even cute, and she reply with, "Eh, not really."

Quickly, I showered, but had no time to put makeup on, do my hair, or pick out a cute outfit. But, it didn't matter right- he wasn't even cute...

We all went to "ward prayer" (the gathering of my student LDS ward to say a prayer and talk about upcoming events) and sat at a table together. While there, I went up to the guy that I did think was cute from our ward, and was trying to talk to him, but Jefry decided that he would join the conversation... Standing there awkwardly and not saying much, he was ruining my chance to talk to this boy!

We then went back to my apartment to cook dinner and watch a movie. As I was brushing my still wet hair, Jefry was trying his best to make conversation with my roommate (who was not into him at all), so I had to do my job to start distracting him. We talked about where he was from (Honduras) and the beaches there and compared them to the South Carolina beaches that I grew up with. In my head, I thought, "Well, if I ever ended up with someone foreign, those beaches are not a bad selling point..."

We then decided to watch a scary movie (I do not like scary movies) and we all sat down. Jefry sat down by the girl he liked, and I sat on the other end of the couch. At this point, I was starting to notice that he was actually kind of cute... Maybe my roommate didn't think so, but I sure did. So I told everyone to scoot down because I was going to sit by him. He was probably disappointed I put more space between him and his crush, but I was 1. fulfilling my girl-duties, and 2. sitting by a really cute guy, so it was a win-win for me.

During the scary movie, there was a bunch of jump scares (aka the perfect excuse to scoot closer to him).

The next day, I decided to follow him on Instagram, which he DM'ed me immediately asking if I had any bad dreams about the movie.

We ended up spending every evening together as a group for pretty much the rest of the semester. Each day I grew more and more attracted to him. He was so cute, respectful (doing my dishes each time he came over) and had such a visible glowing light around him.

Finally, I asked permission from my roommate to go for him, but expressed that he must be too good for me- he was the perfect man in my eyes with such a radiating spiritual glow around him. She gave permission (she never liked him that way in the first place) and the rest is history :)

P.S. I would like to set the record straight that I made ALL of the first moves. I was bold because I knew what I was looking for- and he was it.
