Our story began in the bustling cityscape of New York, where fate—and a popular dating app—brought us together. Alex, who grew up between North Dakota and Wisconsin, had moved to New York City for his medical residency. After starting out in the Bronx, he settled on the Upper East Side. Emily, a Long Island native, had also made the Upper East Side her home after college.

Our first date was a memorable one: a breakfast meet-up, a scheduling compromise due to Alex's night shifts. While he had suggested brunch, Emily was in for a surprise when he meant 8 AM—no mimosas in sight! Despite the early hour, and Alex being half asleep the chemistry was undeniable.

As time went on, we discovered that we were a perfect match. We began to share our lives, indulging in our favorite activities: hiking, traveling, going to concerts, catching movies, and running (which often meant Emily chasing Alex through NYC and Jersey City). Our weekends were filled with trying new restaurants and bars, enjoying sporting events, and attending concerts. Most importantly, we cherished our time with family and friends.

Our journey took an exciting new turn when we decided to move across the Hudson River to Jersey City, where we started building a life together. On February 2nd, 2023, amidst a picturesque snowy hike in the Catskills, Alex proposed. It was a moment that perfectly captured our love and the life we’ve been building together.

We’re thrilled to celebrate our wedding on July 11th, 2025, marking the beginning of the next chapter in our adventure.
