We are absolutely delighted to have you as our esteemed guests for the most enchanted matrimony ceremony that we could have only ever dreamed of. We wanted to provide a little background into the significance of our special venue.

I met Jon on January 18, 2020 on the edge of the dance floor at the awe-inspiring wedding of Heather and Christopher Celotto in Waterbury, Connecticut. My Mom, in tow as my date, met Jon an hour later and was swept off her feet immediately (intentionally), casting her vote for him as my future husband right then and there as he helped her up from a fall with the chivalry, charm and kindness that only Jon Riedinger could possess. In spite of always believing me to be too good for anyone else on earth, my Dad equally instantly felt how special Jon is and gave his assured vote of confidence that he and I will always be together for a very, very long time, after meeting him just twice. My Dad passed away shortly after on August 19, 2020, after he’d known that he was leaving me safely in good hands. That same week, I had to move out to western Mass alone, carrying no compass and a very heavy heart.

During what could have been an even heavier journey, Jon and I strapped on our Camelbaks and embarked on a much lighter new trek together, spending many of our days hiking through trails and up mountains as our budding relationship began to take roots. Side by side, we walked through tall forests, smiling and listening to the wind in the trees, coming to know one another so deeply in the silence, without the need to say a single word. He showered me in sunlight as our love continued to blossom. We crossed rivers and gorges and danced in the rain, laughing about our soggy fingers, and soaking in the joy it is to water and grow a love like this. We stared upwards at snow-capped peaks while he showed me that relying on each other, there is no feat too steep we can’t summit together.

The calming presence of simply being near one another standing on the same earth gave me a serenity that I have not been able to find anywhere else. Every step we took consoled me. Every view we drank in grounded me. Every squished peanut butter and jelly sandwich I shared standing on a mountain with the love of my life was a privilege I vowed to never take for granted. The hundreds of miles of terrain we’ve covered together have taught me that, when protected and treated with care, things that are meant to exist naturally will flourish - wildly, colorfully, majestically, and bountifully - even through the harshest possible conditions, just like a love this pure.

Sitting with him, away from the world, dangling our feet over the sun setting on the horizon, up in the trees where you could hear a pin drop, made me feel enveloped in love in ways that had once seemed insurmountable. But just as he continues to with each new sunrise that arrives, Jon has shown me there is no limit to how high love can grow.

While you won’t need your muddy boots for this summit, we are honored to have you join us on our most special peak yet, 1.5 miles up into heaven, where the magic can truly only be captured by the soul and the heart.
