Our Wedding

It was the fall semester of our sophomore year at Penn State. Brady had just transferred from a military academy, and was&nbsp;struggling to adjust to&nbsp;civilian college life while also coming off of a bad break up. I was in an&nbsp;adjustment period as well, being newly&nbsp;separated from my twin sister for the first time in our lives. Neither one of us really wanted to be playing on that intramural softball team a couple of our&nbsp;mutual friends had put together. Brady had never played the sport in his life and I had just sworn&nbsp;to take a much-needed break from sport. &nbsp;But, for some reason we both ended up on that field together. We hit it&nbsp;off right away,&nbsp;getting&nbsp;lost in conversation far out in the outfield, almost forgetting about the fly balls sailing over our heads. Brady always says that he killed himself trying to impress me, having no idea what he was doing, but&nbsp;sprinting after each ball that came our way. I remember one in particular&nbsp;that launched right in between us, far over our heads.&nbsp;&nbsp;We both took off after it, and&nbsp;him&nbsp;being so much faster than me,&nbsp;he got there first. As he went to pick up the ball to throw it back towards the field, he slipped on the wet grass and fell hard, completely head over heels. I couldn’t help but laugh, as I ran to check&nbsp;to see if he was okay. He was laughing too, but I could tell that he was&nbsp;embarrassed. Little did he know, I was falling just as hard,&nbsp;head over heals for him.&nbsp;

How We Met

The Proposal

This past spring, thanks to a generous college graduation gift, Brady and I were able to travel to the beautiful island of Aruba for a much needed vacation. For the first couple of&nbsp;days we explored our amazing resort and the little town of Oranjestad. We relaxed on our resort's private island and enjoyed some delicious&nbsp;food and cocktails (maybe a bit too much on my part&nbsp;for those of you who know that story!) I thought it couldn't get any better then&nbsp;falling asleep on the beach, listening to the sounds of the ocean that first night together.&nbsp;On our third day on the island, we decided to stay close to the resort&nbsp;and lay by the pool. As we soaked up some sun,&nbsp;Brady&nbsp;mentioned that we had dinner reservations that night. I tried to get more information out of him for the rest of the day, but he wouldn't budge! Later that evening&nbsp;Brady led me downstairs to the our resort's&nbsp;lobby, straight towards a well dressed man standing by the&nbsp;front desk. The man greeted us and led us outside toward&nbsp;the beach where a private candle&nbsp;lit dinner for two was set up. At this point, I wanted to&nbsp;melt into the sand, but instead I squeezed Brady's hand as we sat down at the table together. As our hostess left and a&nbsp;waiter came over to pour us some wine,&nbsp;Brady told me to get ready&nbsp;for a five course meal. When we finished our appetizer, our&nbsp;hostess returned to see how everything was tasting. We told him everything was delicious, and asked if he could take&nbsp;our picture. Barefoot, tipsy, and feeling a little nervous, we walked over to the water’s edge together as the sun was setting.&nbsp;&nbsp;After a few pictures were taken, I tried to change positions with Brady (to try to&nbsp;get my better side of course) when&nbsp;he grabbed my hand, got down on one knee, pulled out a ring and asked me to marry him. I was so surprised and happy. Of course I said yes! Cheers and congratulations poured in from all around us as we celebrated. We finished the night with some more amazing food, a bottle of&nbsp;champagne, and all of our favorite&nbsp;music playing in the background performed by an awesome 90’s cover band (who would have guessed that in Aruba?). It was an absolutely perfect night, and one we will never forget.&nbsp;

Station Square&nbsp;Parking Garage takes cash or card and&nbsp;&nbsp;averages $2/hour.
