A day trip to Capri is a must if you have time. You can either travel by ferry and take the day into your own hands. Otherwise, you can experience a boat tour which includes stops for swimming and free time to visit the island (3-4 hours) the cost of a tour is approx 125 euro.

Our recommendations in Capri:

*Ride in a convertible taxi. It’s such a novelty.

*Visit Anacapri and take the chair lift to the top. The views are amazing!

*Eat gelato. Indulgent!

*Get lost exploring the charming streets and designer shops.

We did a day trip in April 2023 visiting Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius which we booked with Viator. This was such a great experience. We spent a few hours on a guided tour of Pompeii, then we were taken for a lunch with a view half way up the mountain. Finally, after being driven as far as possible, you are then given the chance to walk to the top of Mount Vesuvius - 100% worth it if you can.

We didn’t get chance to visit Herculaneum but hope to do this next year.

Explore Positano, Amalfi and Ravello!

We booked this as a driving tour with Viator for April 2023. We were a small group of 8 with a driver. You're given enough time to explore each town plus a lovely traditional Italian lunch was provided - with amazing views (as above).

Another option is to explore Amalfi and Positano on a boat tour. Cost is approx 140 euro and includes free time to visit Positano (1-2 hours) and Amalfi (1-2 hours) and a stop for swimming.
