Okay, not the very beginning. But our beginning.

We met in November 2022, getting together for our first date at a a halfway point between us. It was pretty amazing- both in graduate school, both with a love for working in mental health, both with a series of valleys and peaks in our lives to bring us to that very moment. Quickly identifying our common threads and shared sense of humor set us off on a great note.

From there we spent more and more time together, eventually moving separately (but really together) to work separately (but really together) at a hospital in Vermont. The opportunity to work with one another, thereby seeing how the other compassionately cares for others, navigates complex social and emotional situations, and maintains equilibrium both inside and outside of the work place, gave us the opportunity to deepen our understanding and love for one another.

In December of 2023, we took a trip to Costa Rica where Brendan put a ring on it! The decision to spend the rest of our lives together was an easy one to make when we already felt like we were at home with one another.

August 9, 2024 was the day we made it official. We rented an amazing chalet surrounded by the Jay Branch River in North Troy, VT with plans to get married by a waterfall on the property.

By chance, remnants of Tropical Storm Debby washed through the area that day resulting in a quick change of plans; the photographer/officiant graciously came 5 hours early in a last minute request to salvage the daylight for the pictures. The river surged and with it washed out the opportunity for the photo ops we had initially imagined.

The weather was overcast, drizzly, and absolutely perfect. The day was a reminder to us how in marriage (and in life) we need to remain adaptable, open minded, and ready to make the best of it regardless of what comes our way.

Thank you all for your constant love and support in our journey. Our day turned out just as unique and intimate as our love for one another, and we can't wait to see what happens next!
