May 9th, 2023 -
We swiped right! His opening line was “What are your thoughts on the Harry Potter tv show hbo is coming out with?” He already knew the way to my heart! After that, we talked for a couple days and finally decided to have our first date.

 May 13th, 2023 -
Caleb and I went on our first date at Stonehaus Farms Winery. I made entirely too big of a charcuterie board for two people… whoops! (Also, his truck passenger door was broken at the time and he made me crawl across from his side to get in the truck.) Once we got to the winery we enjoyed a bottle of wine and talked for hours until the winery shut down. We ended up going back to my house to watch Harry Potter. After that night we kept making plans to hangout and were pretty much inseparable since.

June 10th, 2023 -
I took Caleb out to my grandpa’s farm for the first time. Which is a huge deal, because the farm has a lot of significance for me (my grandpa passed the summer of 2019). Caleb knew I was struggling with all of the memories resurfacing that I had with my grandpa and he wanted to add one more happy memory. We went into my grandpa’s shed and were going to go for a ride around the farm and that’s when he asked me to be his girlfriend. Of course, I said yes!

October 15th, 2023 -
Months and months and MONTHS have passed at this point and Caleb FINALLY proposed!!
I knew it had been coming and this particular weekend was super stressful because of that fact. I kept asking if each new day was “safe” and he’d tell me that he wasn’t proposing that particular day. He sure did fool me! We had family pictures on the 15th and he had told me that morning, that he wasn’t going to propose so I was safe and didn’t need to stress. Later that day, we had all gotten ready for family pictures and headed outside. We were taking pictures in front of my parent’s house. (Which really doesn’t have a whole lot of significance, other than it’s a beautiful brick house.) We’re taking pictures without Caleb at this point because, as my dad liked to say, “he’s not in the family yet”. The photographer tells us all to turn and look at the house and to admire it for this particular picture. A little weird.. but.. okay! Once the picture has been taken everyone starts talking again and we turn back around. CALEB IS ON ONE KNEE. I’m SHOCKED. Ecstatic of course, but shocked nonetheless. I bend over and have my head down and hands on my knees (this picture is below). I’m in complete shock and I’m crying at this point. He apparently thought I was laughing at him.. about to say no. I eventually come to and I answer him and we’re all telling our points of view on how the engagement happened. We all ended the evening with a glass of wine by the fire, playing catch phrase, finally, as a family.
