VOLTERRA


The small town of Volterra is a quick 20 minute drive from Villa Di Ulignano. This beautiful town is a good way to spend a morning exploring.


Driving into historic town centers is not allowed, however ample parking is available outside of the city.


This city boasts the town hall Palazzo dei Priori in the beautiful town square. This city also has a roman theatre and specializes in alabaster stone working.

SAN GIMIGNANO


San Gimignano is considered the Manhattan of the middle ages and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for it's many towers. It is a 30 minute drive from the Villa but worth exploring!


This city has lots of available parking close to the city walls, car parks 2 and 3 are right outside the city gates.


On the long list of things to do is climb the largest of the remaining 14 towers- Torre Grossa for sweeping views.


This town also boasts Gelateria di Piazza, the best local gelateria. This region of Italy also produces Vernaccia and there are several local establishments to try this variety.
