Harrison and Megan met back in 7th grade (Fall 2016) during band class through a mutual friend. Throughout middle school, they always seemed to have at least one class together. Their first impressions of each other came through their hobbies: Harrison noticed Megan’s love for basketball, while Megan admired Harrison’s passion for building and engineering when visiting his robotics class.

They didn’t interact much until high school, where they again found themselves sharing classes. It wasn’t until drafting class that their friendship really began to grow. Megan was a bit of a “damsel in distress” trying to figure out SolidWorks, but Harrison was always there to help, assisting her throughout the years of drafting they had together.

Megan’s feelings for Harrison truly sparked during a drafting field trip to a construction site on January 31, 2020. She saw how funny, intellectual, and charming he was and noticed something deeper, too. Megan observed how Harrison carried himself day to day and knew he was a Christian, which was the most important quality she was looking for in a partner.

Harrison was interested in Megan as well, though it took him a little longer to realize it. Despite the challenges of the COVID year, they remained close friends. During the quiet summer of 2020, they didn’t communicate much until August, when they both attended a mutual friend’s birthday party. The sparks reignited instantly, and it felt like no time had passed at all.

While Harrison enjoyed deepening his friendship, Megan found herself falling more and more in love with his amazing personality. Friends often teased them, asking if they were dating. Megan wished Harrison would ask her to be his girlfriend and waited patiently, while Harrison laughed it off, saying, “No, we’re just friends.”

They were both unaware that a deeper story was unfolding. Megan prayed every day, asking God, “If Harrison is the one for me, please open the door for us to be together. I want a relationship that leads to marriage. If it’s Your will, open the door; if not, please close it.”

One day, Harrison was at church and felt a heavy, clear prompting from God to pursue a relationship with Megan. Neither of them knew at the time how God was quietly working behind the scenes, preparing their hearts.

During the Spring of 2021, Harrison and Megan were teammates on the track team. They spent lots of time together hanging out with friends, growing their bond, flirting, and even competing with each other’s competitive spirits. Many friends could see the spark between them and hoped they’d become a couple.

Junior Prom was approaching, and everyone was arranging their dates. Megan anxiously hoped Harrison would ask her. He did… but “as friends.” It was a very funny, Gen Z way of asking her to prom (if you know, you know). Megan was over the moon, feeling it was a step toward something more than friendship.

Two weeks later, at a National Honor Society meeting on March 23, 2021, one of their track friends asked Harrison if they were dating because it sure looked like it. That was the tipping point. Later that night, Harrison asked Megan to be his girlfriend using the same tactic he used to ask her to prom. It was over FaceTime, but Megan wouldn’t change a thing about the way he asked. In her eyes, it was perfect, and he made it into a memory the two will laugh about forever. After praying for over a year, Megan was finally Harrison’s girlfriend.

Fast forward to October 17, 2025. Harrison pulled off a sweet, intimate proposal to Megan at their favorite spot, Hickory Point. This has been a place the two have cherished over the years, where many beautiful memories were made. Of course, Megan said yes and accepted the proposal to marry Harrison.

Now, after nearly five years together, their relationship has flourished through God’s guidance. They’ve faced both good and challenging times, growing closer to each other and to Christ. They’ve learned how deeply they love one another and how truly blessed they are. Throughout it all, they’ve sought God first and now, they’re ready to begin the rest of their lives together.
