"Happy Almost Friday! Anything fun planned for the weekend?" - J
Jackie and Shane met on Bumble. With Jackie's adventurous smile, and Shane's smoldering off-camera gaze, it's no surprise they quickly fell for each other.
Jackie and Shane began building their lives together in San Francisco - surfing in Bolinas, challenging each other to pop-a-shot at Mauna Loa, running through the Presidio and Marin Headlands, and skiing with friends in Tahoe.
They even ran their first half marathon together. Shane thought he could beat Jackie, but was quickly left in the dust.
Jackie and Shane loved spending time together in Mammoth. In the summers, they'd tackle California's highest peaks like Mt. Whitney and Mt. Langley (with her dad Jeff hot on their heels...), running Mammoth Rock Trail, or accidentally shanking golf balls onto people's porches at Snowcreek.
The winters brought just as much fun - skiing and apres'ing with her family, and snowshoeing up to the lakes.
Little did Jackie know just how important this place would become...
Jackie and Shane continued to find many new adventures outside of San Francisco, like visiting Shane's family in Massachusetts, surfing and snorkeling in Maui, and running races in Chicago, Sacramento, and San Diego.
Jackie's true test of strength came when, to everyone's dismay, the plumbing broke in Boxborough. But as they say, "true love is forged through adversity and broken toilets..."
Since they met, running has been a shared passion through which Jackie and Shane have bonded over the years. From warm, easy miles on the beach path in Santa Barbara, to the windy, cold, hilly climbs of San Francisco, they have found new ways to challenge, encourage, and love each other.
They have conquered races in Chicago, Sacramento, San Diego, and most recently... BOSTON(!!!) where Jackie ran her personal best marathon. (Shane was in charge of the cheer squad.)
The morning after Christmas, Jackie and Shane ventured out on a run on the Mammoth Town Loop Trail. It was a beautiful morning, and they stopped at their favorite lookout, just off the trail...
That's when Shane realized he couldn't wait another minute to call this girl his wife. He had the ring in his running belt, and proposed in a quiet moment that belonged just to them.
They can't wait to re-visit their lookout, enjoy the view, and toast a cold one this summer...
Then they set the Guinness World Record for most kisses ever...
